With the youth world cups well on their way we can discuss anything Honduras related here.
    Sub-17-Germany, Argentina, Nigeria, Honduras

Looks like we're destined to be the punching bag, but anything can happen especially at the age these kids are in. I'm confident we'll pull an upset somewhere, and snatch a tie. Anybody hear any news on these kids? I can't find anything anywhere, no friendlies, call-ups, nadaa.
The only opponent I can talk on is argentina, they won their group in south america which consisted of Chile, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Uruguay.. They have one winger who's exceptional, but other than that they are a fairly average team, and this can very well be the team we pull an upset on.

Sub-20-United Arab Emirates, Honduras, South Africa, Hungary

These guys are the near future of seleccion and will need to show what they're made of by making It out of this group(the opponents are more than accesible). Watched 3 vids of these guys, and the only things I can say for sure are they love taking shots from a distance, and both our fowards have good size and are willing to pass if the other has a clearer chance on goal. Rueda will definitley be looking to pluck a foward or two, and a midfielder from this squad for the world cup.

Good idea to make a thead on this topic. I read on diez a week ago that the midfielder Christian Altamirano who has recently signed for olimpia will miss the u20 world cup through injury.

Also does anyone know if the hispano striker Milton 'muni' Ruiz is eligible to play in the u20 world cup or is he too old, because he seems a very good prospect.

Mayorquin and Martinez should bring experience to the squad.

    U-20 Game Dates:

    >September 27th: vs. Hungary, approximately 3:30 EST

    >September 30th: vs. United Arab Emirates, 3:30 EST

    >October 3rd: vs. South Africa, 12:45 EST

    U-17 Game Dates:

    >October 24th: vs. Argentina

    >October 27th: vs. Nigeria

    >October 30th: vs. Germany

For the U-20 team, I really don't know what to expect. At all. It would be nice to get two wins, I'll say that much.

For the U-17 team, hey anythings possible. But for the most part Im expecting them to experience some serious ass-whoopings against Argentina and Germany. Nigeria could be beatable but after the Argentina game Im sure our confidence will be shot! :D

Yankscatracho, did you see them both play?
    Damn that sucks,.
And as for Milton ruiz, I don't think he's eligible, he. was born in '88 according to wikipedia.. That would make him one year too old.

Nice find yankscatracho.. What the hell is up with the friendlies though, is there no money?
Really, what postion does he play? Is he fast, more technical? A play maker, or strong midfielder who breaks opponents plays?
Lol I'm interested I haven't seen any of these guys play.

Oh yeah, hes a striker alright!

He made his debut with Olimpia (not the b team) when he was 15 years old!

Damn that's very impressive. And since the he's touted as the next costly I suppose he's tall, I hope he's a more of an ariel threat than him though.

All in all I'm very interested in watching this kid play.

    Any videos, guys?

Thats the second half of the Cuba-Honduras game from the CONCACAF U17 championship. Honduras won that game 6-0, 3 of the goals were scrored by Lozano.

Fast forward to about the 26th minute of the vid to see the buildup of Lozano's second goal.

Argentina will be the only team I can see us getting points from. Nigeria are playing at home, and Germans at this age are amazing and I can see our players getting intimidated.
For the u-20 i can see them playing 5 games this tournament, but will probably be 4 games, which is still really good. Hopefully this kids get seen and are shipped off to europe pronto.

Thanks for the vid bro, watched both halves.

    Negatives
    - That goalkeeper is very unreliable and needs a lot of work.
    - too many opportunities wasted, some of these kids have to work on there shooting, I have the same problemm... I tend to look directly at the ball and not at the net Lol
    - not too many one-two touches near the sidelines, which made the wing backs work a lot easier and less tiring.

    Positives
    - These players showed patience. For the most part they didn't just blast shots from anywhere on the field.
    - they mix long and short passes pretty well (being too predictable is bad)
    - the guys know this is a team game, there was a couple of selfish plays but a lotttt less than what is usually displayed in these tournaments.
    - Anthony Lozano is on another level, the kid shouldn't be described as costly at all. The only similarities are his size. He's more mobile than costly, has a better dribble. doesn't only look to do one trick, and most importantly doesn't look lost when he recieves the ball near the sidelines. Decent speed good size and that killer instinct. If Lozano reaches his full potential, we will be comparing people to him not the other way around.

Orlin Peralta starts at Vida actually. Victoria and Platense or Vida have a strong core group of youngsters on their team.
