Our enemies are vanquished. We are still top of the league.

Enjoyable game last night our defending excluded ( we need to work on this ) sat next to some newbies who really enjoyed the night & atmosphere and said they were coming back for more, great crowd 6'050 were moving in the right direction as a club, onwards and upwards.

One non-match releated item from yesterday was the fact that I (and others) got to meet Tony Scholes, who is the Chairman at Stoke City. Tony was over with Gary Mellor, and I was able to chat with both for a bit. What a neat guy. He commented on how impressed he was by the crowd, and especially the La Villa Aztex (supporters section), for the noise and enthusiasm we all showed. Great job to all.

I also gave him a Chantico's Army tshirt, and an extra one for Tony Pulis.

Did you charge the Army membership rate or non-membership rate? ;)

I'm still feeling a little wired. Despite giving up the lead (THREE times!), when I run the game back in my mind, it really was a very high-level game. And what a crowd! Maybe I'm still feeling the buzz from that audience. And I wasn't on the field.

I still think our players got both a negative and positive boost out of the packed House.

If it weren't for Kljestan, I could've made a pun about it being a

While the result was disappointing, at least we came away with a tie. Rochester outshot Baltimore 15-4. And lost 1-0.

Oh. And we had more at our game than Rochester did at theirs.

I never, ever, ever in my wildest dreams imagined I'd ever write that.

    E-ver.

Great crowd. Mediocre performance by the team. Really lost discipline at the end and gave up that GTG - frustrating.

Also, what was with the aimless long balls for long stretches. One of the things I love about this team was they had stopped that stuff.

It seemed like they started doing that after the first few minutes. Makes me think they (and maybe even Adrian) saw something about Tampa that made them think that was the right way to approach Tampa. And as far as us scoring goes, it certainly seems to have worked.

I'm way more concerned about our defense. Sure, the first one should never have happened because of a handball along the sidelines, but giving up that second one after all Eddie's hard work was just maddening. Jay seemed a little off his game last night.

It also seemed like a lot of the time we were almost three in the back. I noticed one or the other outside back pushing up a lot.

    Re: The Cold Stare!

On the NASL website, there's a picture with one of those Tampa Bay Rowdie's players. His eyes are soo glazed/rolled over he looks like he has rabbies!!!!!

And here's my caption for the pic.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the attendance number for your game! That must have been great to have a near sellout. You're right next to us in attendance standings so far this year. Rhinos took a real hit when they played in that storm a few weeks ago though. about 8k tickets sold but the turnstile number was 1447. Keep it up guys! We'll see ya in the postseason =).

Just to be fair, that 6K number is an anomaly.

It did prove though that when/if they do get to 6K, House will be a hell of an environment. I'm looking forward to that.

Strange how we get such turnout for Wednesday matches.

This was a special case, and the only Wednesday match so far this year.

I think he may have been referring to the 2nd-biggest Aztex crowd ever at House: the Haiti National Team game was also on a Wednesday.

Oh, yeah, already forgot about that one.:)

Another special case. If Haiti had been on a weekend or the Aztex had done their special deal for Tampa on a weekend, it would've sold out both games, I'll bet.
