Guys/Gals, This is the largest crowd of the year, our one shot to bring in the opening night crowd that usually never returns. Lets really work to become more united/louder, as the fort has been declining over the past few years. Lets bring attention to ourselves. Be loud. Have no voice for 7-10 days, and when your boss asks what is wrong with you, simply croak "passion". Silence does not belong in the Fort. If you arent screaming, get the hell out of OUR section. Lets try to be much better working with the capo this year, it is a hit and miss kind of thing. Lets knock this out of the park. See you there, and if you can't see me I ASSURE you, you will hear me. Hopefully not above everyone else as has been the case, but drowned out by the magnitude of supporters behind me. Its game day everyone! Dan
Anyone who wants to dicuss tifo for 2013 in great detail and be on the forefront of creating tifo displays unmatched by our previous seasons relatively shoddy work, sign up for the Riders this year and get over to the message board.
would it be a good idea for rebels to sign up as a rider too? It seems like the riders message boards are the place to be for tifo, fort, atmosphere talk.
Not sure. The two groups are definitely collaborating on things but I'm not sure how their leadership is handling their entire tifo process this year. Just know the Riders are doing things this differently and I'm excited that the discussion is so deep and elaborate this early on.
Damn it ... I originally had a smiley on the end, and must have deleted it. Was just being a wise-ass. Stupid me...
I'm not trying to be negative and I appreciate all the hardwork that goes into supporters culture here but why is it more difficult to get our relatively small number of people to cooperate/coordinate but other teams do it on a much larger scale. What is the core of the problem?
Honest opinion too many people in the Fort who don't want to participate. Too many supporters rush into the Fort grab a "seat" up front and don't do anything but Revolution chant. And to be honest I have been guilty of it in the past. But I will say when I am not feeling the mood to be 100% involved I usually stand up at the top of the section.
Not by a long shot. I'll be happy if we can get to 5 figures. I am thrilled to be only a week+ from the game, but for the sake of attendance, we have no business playing home games in March.
Not to mention that the home opener is on the same weekend as the girls weekend of the NEFC club tournament. I'm not going to the Revs game because of it.
I think this year is going to be a bit different because of the way they've sold the game. It may not be the highest attended game of the year, but it will be up there, imo. They have done a much better job in promoting this years opening than any year I can remember in the last decade. I wouldn't be surprised if the opener is in the 16-17K range.
Friday I saw a Revs ad on television while on the elliptical, and then driving in to Boston I heard a radio ad and saw a billboard ad. Three ads, in three media, within three hours. It's anecdotal, but I don't remember seeing that much advertising in the past. Does anyone know if they've increased the amount of advertising?
Updated Forecast now says partly sunny and milder, high 51. Getting better, but I am sure it will change 10 more times before next week
Want to know how well we're doing selling tickets to the opener? Head to the Revs site and check out single-game tickets. You're taken to a ticketmaster site with a stadium map. Once you zoom in close enough, you're shown the unsold seats, and by default, the seats that have been sold below row 19 or 20, around the entire stadium. Doesn't include The Fort as it's all general admission. Apparently, plenty of good seats still available.
