more for re-establishing himself reasons. He could easily find himself in League 1 in January.

Coyle has been sputtering for so long after such a promising start. I'm shocked he wasn't sacked before, I think was a money thing. McCarthy would be a good hire. The football wouldn't be great but he'd get them up and keep them up.

Also it would be great to see his press conferences again.

Glad Coyle got sacked, he cored against us for Bolton in the 1995 play-off final. Holden will still get his chance to re-establish himself.

Yes, I'd forgotten about that wonderful thing.

Didn't McCarthy sign Stu at Sunderland?

Next step is actually training with the team, and by that I mean full participation.

If he makes one appearance in a game before the end of May 2013, I'll be happy. Hopefully he'll have a full year of games before the World Cup in 2014 - that will allow us to adequately determine if he's returned to full strength.

Assuming this and being generous that would mean he's back to training with the team on 12/1 at the latest?

Sammy Lee and Jimmy Phillips, coaches from Bolton's academy, are joint caretaker managers.
