Just a thought...Why not have a couple different logos? One for bigger items (banners, t-shirts, etc.) and one for smaller items (hats and bumperstickers). Another option is to change up the logo every season or every other season...seems like there are plenty of good ideas and plenty of great artists among the Syndicate...Maybe change the logo after we arrive at the new stadium... Just some thoughts that popped in...
We can have all sorts of logos and designs. I don't see it necessary to have just one mark or follow a strict "brand." Obviously, we'll have one primary mark, but we can use others as well. As long as all designs keep within the Wizards color palette. It would be cool if we could create a look and style that feels very grassroots and underground, but with a clean design. I can already see tons of stickers with the mark plastered around town in bar restrooms, light poles, vehicles, etc. Let's get viral with this thing yo.
Sounds good to me... one idea for a t-shirt or something...group of people(men and women) standing in front of a goal, wearing older gear or something that looks a little worn and torn, straight faces, cleats(boots), maybe some brass knuckles or whatever...you know just an older looking vibe from the 30's or so black and white or brown and white with only the Wizard blue on the shirts or something... does that make sense?
Since I got a PM on this the other day, I thought I'd share the answer to a question here. If you want to put some ideas out there, but don't have the Adobe suite etc, you might try Inkscape. It's similar to Adobe Illustrator in that it's a vector graphics editor, but free. There's also GIMPshop, which is a Photoshop alternative for Windows that's more usable than the original GIMP. Love the logo ideas that you've already made - especially the last one. I'm also not crazy about the knuckles, not because it looks bad, but it's a little poseur for our group.
I would think any reference to any kind of violence such as knuckles or tommy guns would not be an ideal direction to go. Even if we didn't mean the aggressive tone, it would be one to avoid IMO. On the other hand, rainbows!!, fairy dust and pink should be avoided too -- not that there's anything wrong with that
Ya. The knucks were just a visual element that I created quickly to stick in there. More or less a nod to the city's gangland history. Or maybe even Hillcrest Road's history. Probably not the best choice. Also, the Mike Ditka Street Crew in Chicago already uses it in their logo.
That's a great link, as it shows what we invision the Cauldron becoming. Multiple Idependent Supporter Groups, with their individual identities, coming together as one Supporter Section. I really like what you have posted so far, very nice ideas! I agree that the round logo would look great, and make for some nice stickers! I can see a t-shirt with a smaller round logo on the front, and something like the American Gangster on the back. The only down side is we would probably have to do white shirt with blue/black/white printing...but that would probably look fine.
probably correct... what about a knotted scarf in someones hand...the poster that the guy init with the gun, instead use a scarf that has not in the middle and both ends in his hand.... just throwing out ideas...
gonna have to echo Mark's and Jeff's comments about logos. 1st it is posuerish, that is not KC and shouldn't be promoted as such. 2nd symbols of violence is not something to be gathered around and is something that should not be promoted in The Cauldron. Give me a proud symbol to rally behind.
Funny... you guys saw brass knuckles; I saw an upside down crown, which made total sense to me at the time in some weird way. But now that I think about it, I guess a crown doesn't have anything to do with wizards except in a vague associative medieval way.
I am sure this is funny, but damn image blockers at work make me feel like the blind guy in the room At least I know it is car bomb related cos of the file name!!
