I wouldn't call a red for somebody who did a couple minor things (and thus got a second yellow very late in the game) and another right at the end for fighting (when our guy in the fight got a red also) particularly hosed - you were short-handed for something like fifteen minutes, if I recall correctly.

But yeah, your offense looked better than I expected and our defense worse. Well-fought match, on both sides, and I look forward to seeing more out of both teams as the season progresses.

We are hosed because we lose both of them for the next game. If Rilla is still out the loss of Hunt is big.

    Navia impressed me too.

True, I was thinking you meant during that game and hadn't looked at how deep a bench you have. I can see that as cause for concern.

Right now the roster shows only 3 defenders eligible to play on Saturday: Martyn Lancaster (6-1, 180), Shane Moroney (5-11, 165), and Patrick Robertson (5-10, 170). Pat and Shane are outside backs, leaving Martyn the lone center back and the only one over 6 feet. The lack of size was a big problem against Carolina, who seemed to field a team of giants. Over half their team was 6 foot or bigger.

The good news is that Tampa won't have the size advantage Carolina had. Mike Ambersley (5-9, 155), Tsuyoshi Yoshitake (5-8, 150), and Luke Mulholland (5-9, 150) are good but at least we can match them physically.

I am concerned how we stop Daniel Antoniuk (6-3, 197) who is going to have a considerable size and weight advantage.

Maybe O'Brien or Paulini can drop back and fill in on the back line next saturday. Jordan Davis is also a possibility if Rilla is still out.

Birth of a rivalry? It would have been sweet to come away with the victory with MLS brass visiting Carolina this weekend. I think Navia is going to be huge for us. I really like our attack with Cox, Hunt, Matsushita, and Navia now. Lots of speed.
