The last I read on Marchisio was muscle fatigue and he was just being rested last Sunday. I have not seen any updates on him. What is the deal with Ogbonna?

There should be a press release soon with the roster that will go to Firenze. That should include all of the injury updates but that report from Tuttosport does not look good.

Missing from the travelling party is Angelo Ogbonna, who reported muscular discomfort in his left thigh during yesterday’s training session. This morning he underwent medical examinations which revealed a first grade tear of his adductor longus muscle.

Vucinic is on the roster for the Fiorentina match.

I have not found any official status concerning Marchisio & Giovinco but both went out last week against Fiorentina and are not on the roster for the second leg being played tomorrow.

    Marchisio back in training
    By Football Italia staff

Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio today returned to training with the rest of the Old Lady squad, having been out for the last 10 days.

The 28-year-old may now come into contention for a place in Coach AntonioConte’s squad to face Parma at Juventus Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Paul Pogba will also return to the fray, having been suspended for yesterday’s win over Catania.

Fernando Llorente is expected to line up alongside Carlos Tevez in attack, which would mean Danny Osvalso dropping to the bench.

Conte will however have to do without duo Andrea Barzagli and Angelo Ogbonna, who are both currently injured.

    Vidal risks knee surgery
    By Football Italia staff

Arturo Vidal faces an anxious wait for test results amid fears the Juventus midfielder will require knee surgery.

The Chile international has been struggling with a knee problem since the 2-0 defeat to Napoli and managed only a handful of substitute appearances.

He has been told to rest completely for three days before further tests and Tuttosport claim disappointing results will mean going under the knife.

Vidal and Chile are eager to avoid this solution, as it would rule him out for the rest of the season and leave him struggling for fitness going into the World Cup.

The operation would be keyhole surgery to clean up the meniscus ligament.

“Arturo has this inflammation in the meniscus area. He seemed to be healed when he played against Lyon, but it became inflamed again. He is training with the team and we’ll try to get him on the field, maybe tomorrow for a small period, but more likely on Thursday in the Europa League.

“He is an important player for Juventus, who pay his wages, and then he’ll be an important player for Chile. I understand there is alarm in Chile, but if anyone ought to be alarmed about an injury to our player it’s Juve.

“The Chilean medical staff are always in contact with Juve doctors, just as they always have been. Similarly, when Vidal wasn’t well during a national team get-together we sent our doctor to Chile. The common objective is to ensure the player is well. We treat him with kid gloves!”

He is first chilean (with allegiance to the chilean team), and only afterwards, a Juventus player.
Clubs come and go through the life of any player, but his nationality will always remain the same. Once Juventus sells the player and recover their investment on him, they will care peanuts on the future of the player, while the chilean team will always be concerned on his future usefulness. Both point of views are still selfish, as both look for their best interest on regards to the player, because if Vidal wouldn't be the player he actually is, none would give a cent on whatever his fate could be.

In this whole situation the player must first seek for his own best interest.

In any case, at this point of time, "we" all (Vidal, NT, Juventus, and all of his fans included), are all pretty equally concerned on his best recovery as soon as possible. To say that one party is more worried than the other, would be least to say, to be arrogant in regards to the others.:cautious:

    Vidal set for knee surgery?
    By Football Italia staff

There are reports Juventus and Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal has decided to have knee surgery before the World Cup.

He has been carrying a meniscus problem since the Europa League game with Fiorentina on March 20.

Chile even sent medical staff over to Turin for a personal visit to check on his condition so close to the World Cup in Brazil.

According to Sport Mediaset, Vidal told his Juve teammates that he will undergo keyhole surgery on Tuesday.

    Vidal surgery a success
    By Football Italia staff

Arturo Vidal’s knee surgery has been a success, but the Juventus midfielder will be out for the next 30 days.

Reports in several media outlets, including Sport Mediaset, indicate that the Chile international’s operation has gone well this morning.

The Bianconeri man was in Barcelona on Wednesday to have keyhole surgery on his right meniscus.

But it has been revealed that Vidal is well, but won’t be back in action for the next month.

It obviously means that the 26-year-old has played his last Serie A game of the season, but should be back for this summer’s World Cup – starting on June 12.
