Caceres and Vucinic sit out afternoon session
The Bianconeri pair make an early return to Vinovo after sustaining injuries during last weekend’s international fixtures. On the training ground, it’s business as usual for Antonio Conte’s men

International duo Mirko Vucinic and Martin Caceres today returned to Vinovo after picking up injuries during last weekend’s World Cup qualification encounters.

The Montenegrin forward continued his recovery in the swimming pool following a heavy bruise sustained to his left knee during Friday night’s draw with Poland.

Caceres, meanwhile, will require arthroscopic surgery after an afternoon MRI scan on his right knee revealed a torn external meniscus. The operation will be conducted tomorrow morning at Turin’s Fornaca clinic by Professor Quaglia.

On the training ground, Antonio Conte put a reduced squad through their paces in an afternoon session as the clock ticks down to Saturday evening’s Derby d’Italia meeting with Inter at the San Siro.

    Pepe suffers new injury
    By Football Italia staff

Juventus winger Simone Pepe has picked up another muscular injury, postponing his comeback.

The 30-year-old made only one Serie A appearance last season, playing 22 minutes in Juventus 0-0 Lazio in November 2012.

He had been on the road to recovery from a recurring thigh problem, but today the club announced he suffered another relapse.

Pepe has a lesion to the left thigh, close to the spot that underwent surgery in February, and will have to rest for at least 15-20 days.

    Vucinic could face Inter
    By Football Italia staff

Mirko Vucinic resumed training with Juventus today, so could well start on Saturday against Inter.
The striker was stretchered off while on international duty for Montenegro last Friday with a knock to the knee.
There were fears he would not be fit for the weekend, but Vucinic resumed full training today with his teammates.
This suggests he is available to start the Derby d’Italia against Inter at San Siro.
It kicks off on Saturday at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT)

Saw that article as well @ArtemioD. Vucinic makes the first to get blue for the season. Hopefully Conte gives him a rest and saves him for the CL. Let Quagliarella start Saturday.

I'm with you. No need to rush him and Quags has earned this start for his loyalty.

GdS: Pepe's MRI was positive & he'll be back within two weeks. Juve are hopeful this will be the last of his injuries.

We missed one last week, not that he is really missed. Who?

Brazilian goalkeeper Rubinho is excluded from the travelling party after suffering a gemellus muscle injury. He is expected to be sidelined for a period of around three weeks.

    Vucinic and Lichtsteiner medical update
The Bianconeri duo undergo medical examinations after both departing the action at differing stages of yesterday’s Champions League clash against Galatasaray

After leaving the action at differing stages of last night's Champions League meeting with Galatasaray, Juventus duo Mirko Vucinic and Stephan Lichtsteiner both underwent medical examinations today.

The tests for Vucinic, who was substituted midway through the first half, displayed a first-grade tear to the femoral bicep of the striker’s left thigh.

Lichtsteiner’s medical examinations, meanwhile, revealed an area of discomfort in the rectus femoris muscle of his right thigh. He will undergo further tests tomorrow in order to assess the full extent of the problem.
