    FTR every article I've read about Messi's record-breaking mentions that Müller did it in less games and less penalties.

    17% of Messi's goals were from PK's. If I understood right, Mueller did not take a single PK.

    Has anyone even heard of this record before they fished it out of thin air since its messi??

    I have a lot of respect for messi and Barca.
    But there is so many holes to this damn thing it's ridiculous..

    Muller had 6 less games and not a single penalty kick.
    Zico had like 89/90 goals? And he was injured for 2 months..
    Then this Zambia player..

    It's just getting ridiculous

    I don't think they "fished it out of thin air" because it's Messi. "Goals in a calendar year" is relatively meaningless, but because a player happens to have scored an insane amount of goals this year, we collectively decidedly to measure it and give it meaning.

    What's really ridiculous are the Messi/Müller comparisons, because they're two completely different attackers from two completely different times.

    Barca and Messi are great right now but let me you tell you what's better - the trio of henry-etoo-messi in 2008/2009.... they were just incredible. What a force !

    They seem more direct this season.

    Something Tito put into this club..

    Instead of 50 passes into the net, they are trying for 10-15 :p

    Which is a good step I think.

    Their defense has been a little shaky though... I mean even Madrid has a better defensive record and they are having their worst year..
