Hello, I'm a Charlton fan in the USA.

The furthest I've been from home is Canada or Mexico, so I've never been to London. So why Charlton? I love watching the Premiership, and for the longest time, I didn't know which club to call my own, and I'm not like many people who love to ride the bandwagon for whatever club is really popular at the moment. I wanted to pick someone to root for that I could really develop a love for over time, regardless of wins and losses.

The "hook" that brought me to Charlton is a favorite film of mine, by Antonioni called "Blow-Up", with David Hemmings, and there's a famous scene in a park, which is located within a short distance of The Valley.

Also I was intrigued by the tumultuous history of how the club were forced out of The Valley and made their triumphal return, and now the future looks bright as ever.

I look forward to someday visiting England and Europe, and most definitely it will include a match day visit. And then I'll look forward to visiting all the pubs in the neighborhood, and get to know some of my new brothers and sisters.

    Hello! Welcome to the board.

I hope you are able to go to the valley someday, it is a wonderful experience.

Flights aren't actually that bad in the fall and winter to London (if you ignore the $125 heathrow tax), if you plan well you could see three or four premiership games in a 3 day weekend if the schedule works out right.
