Hector Moreno @ RCD Espanyol [R]

Moreno out due to injury, not sure if it's the same one but I thought 1 week sounded to good for that area. I'd be surprised if he's back next game but if it wasn't serious that shouldn't be too bad

 

Please just be healthy for the World Cup. Really all that matters at this point. If I found out that Maza has to start against Neymar, I may have a heart attack. Or an ulcer. Or both. Simultaneously.

 

So as I suspected the guy is still out due to injury. Apparently, it's a bruising of the coccyx. In an athlete and with proper physical therapy healing time should only be about a month to a month and a half, give or take a week.

I was under the impression that we would start getting ready for the WC in early May, I was wrong. He should be back in the next couple weeks, I'm just glad they're not rushing him. He'll get a few games and should be rested and in rhythm by the time the pre-WC friendlies start. No reason to worry about missing the WC.

Moreno played the entire game in today's 1-2 loss against Almería.

 

What do you guys think of Hector Moreno joining a premier league side? He's got ties with Pochettino and Louis van Gaal. United could definitely use a new CB now that Vidic is off and Ferdinand is getting old. Here are some excerpts from an interview he gave a few years back:

I'm pretty sure there was a story a while back about the management not being content with Espanyol's performances and their position when they were just above mid table. Now they're 12th. Also, take note of the bolded, it's merely a prediction.
