Yes, it's very late in the season but since they're challenging for a top 2 spot I think Hearts deserve their own thread. According to the fan page there's at least 3 other Hearts supporters on BigSoccer :p

The game against Rangers was amazing and I can't wait for Wednesday! I know it's the day before the first exam but I might have to cancel office hours.

I agree, this thread is long overdue. Can anyone tell me what's going on with Andrew Driver? Is he looking like getting on the pitch in the near future?

To be honest I thought Hearts were very poor against Rangers for the best part of 60mins. I think it showed how much they rely on Kevin Kyle up front.

The last 30mins or so they came into the game, strangely enough when their most dangerous player, young David Templeton, had been subbed off.

If Rangers had taken half their chances they created in the first 45mins they would have been out of sight. Naturally, I'm glad they didn't. :D

Re: Driver - he's been injured all season and I haven't heard much about him recently, leading me to believe he wont be making an appearance at all this season.

I've just been "disliked" on facebook by my Irish colleague for coming out as a Hearts supporter. That's ok. We understand as economists that there are trade-offs in life and supporting certain teams will lose you friends.

My friend's a Hearts fan and I went down to meet a few of them after the game and the pub was absolutely rocking. A lot of them think they've got a serious chance to challenge the OF this season.

I'm not sure I quite a agree yet. I think they have both of them coming up very soon and if they can come through both games undefeated, then it'll go some way to convincing me.

Neither OF team is exactly formidable but Hearts would really need to keep a handful of players injury free to keep within striking distance.

We play Hearts at home on Wednesday. Kyle is the key. Without Kyle they look very, very ordinary in an attacking sense. Jeffries has them built solidly at the back but it showed how restricted they were at trying to make an impression in an attacking sense without Kyle as a figurehead.

My friend thought similarly about Zaliukas. That they're much worse, defensively, without him.

The UPS man will arrive any minute now at my office with the Hearts jersey that was on sale for $31 (wow) just in time for the big game! I hope the students don't mind me not paying attention to them during office hours :)

Another big Wednesday game coming up with a chance to leapfrog Rangers. Buuuuuut given the way the Celtic game I went have a feeling Rangers are going to bring the fury for their previous defeat.

Either way I'll be there (virtually), ignoring students in office hours and shouting profanities.

    Post Rangers vs Hearts:

And boom goes the dynamite (dynamite = chance of top 2 finish). Couldn't find an online stream for this one and haven't found a write up but did notice 6-0 yellow cards in favor of Hearts. Did anyone see this game? What's that all about?

Surely you aren't suggesting referees should be accountable for their decisions and come forth with why they made them!?!? The referees don't take too kindly to those sort of queries and generally go in a huff and strike.

Transparency and accountability. We have no need for these words in the world of Scottish football...

Through all the troubles in Scottish football recently it's nice to know that some people still have a sense of humour... :D

That word is taboo at Tynecastle. As far as they're concerned, there's no such thing.

Done because it was the right thing to do, or because they didn't want any more sponsors withdrawing? I'll hazard a guess at the latter.
