This previously well insured who now have $5000 deductible plans for more money you mention is vastly outweighed by the people that were paying insurance companies to be uninsured, were paying significantly more to include preexisting conditions on their plans, or paying for those preexisting conditions out of pocket.

 

Well we all knew there was going to be losers; me and you have to pay extra for poor people to get Insurance.

That is fine; I don't want their poor ass packing the ER, when I need to go there for swallowing too many "special" pills or something.

Jindal's solution in Louisiana is to close a number of public hospitals that previously served indigent patients. Of course, the predictable result is that those patients are now showing up at the emergency rooms of other hospitals; hospitals that aren't being compensated for indigent care. Meanwhile, because he's a Medicaid expansion refusnik, 250,000 poor Louisianans remain without plausible access to healthcare beyond the emergency room. And at the same time Lousianans tax $$ contribute to the Medicaid expansion in those states that did accept the expansion...

 

So they are not coming to my ER, sounds good to me.

Now I just have to find them pills.
