Max Bretos "YYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS" As neither team was able to get the go-ahead goal before the end of regular play, the teams took to the field again for extra time. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Columbus's Jens Frasch after 97 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 3 - 4 lead. What a dramatic win for Columbus! Talk about a close match.
Won my first Cup game 4-2, no injuries or cards (actually it's the first Cup game ever that I've started my first team). So the payoff is another home game, but I'm outclassed this time so I'm thinking I will play reserves and get back to flagchasing. In league 433, I open and close against the relegated team (and presumptive league champion). OK, baptism by fire it is.
Well at least my fate has been determined early. I went ahead and MOTSed the match, and I am being put to the sword. I don't have the kind of money that would be required to upgrade my roster this season, so there's little I can do. Now my fans expectation was "Go for the title" this season. Are there consequences of finishing second when your fans think you should win the league?
I MOTS'ed my first league match away against a defender trainer. He played a 5-3-2, I did a 3-4-3 AIM, the thrilling outcome, a 0-0 draw! Despite my WC AIM. Probably works out ok as I play him at home next time. I have lots of time to recover my TS against poor teams and a bot. Only one other team in my series has a realistic shot at the title. But it seems odd being in 5th place in such a crappy series!
Won my first match in IV. 3-1 vs the KC Kings on a mutal pic. I have a cupcake in the cup tomorrow, picing again should be a fun blowout. Hopefully my 17 yr old prodigy will put a couple in and get on the scoresheet again.
Looks like your TS and the HT random factor hurt you in the cup, as I play the guy that beat you next week...
It's takes a couple season to get a decent team going. You'll need to buy some new players and start a training regiment. Also, good is kind of relative. You could have a great division VI team (assuming you play in the USA league) but compared to a division III team, you would get your ass kicked. For the main training regiments, your players need to play in order to receive training. Those are for forwards, midfielders, wingers, defenders, and keepers. Pick what training system you'd like to use and a formation that would fit it. For instance, I train midfielders so I play with a 3-5-2 formation and train playmaking. Make sure you get some young trainees that are around 17 or 18 years old and stick with it. It will take a couple seasons to have some effective players but patience is key with this game. That is how your players performed during the game. Also, I would recommend reading the rules that they have posted. It really explains a whole lot. You're a new manager so I'm sure you have to complete that manager license thing. That will also help a bit with your understanding of the game.
And yet another spammer for trophymanager gets a red card. They must be doing a big membership drive right now...
Poor start of the season for me. I have two main rivals for the title and had to play both away in week 1 and 3. Drew with one (0-0), lost to the other (3-1). I probably need to beat both of them in the return matches at home later in the season. My strategy is to PIC every game until I play them again as the other teams are not good enough to threaten. I don't have the money to upgrade while they seem to, so I am not too optimistic.
