I will say that the person at the top of the ticket will play VERY well with the conservative base.

You can never go wrong with an electoral strategy that alienates 2/3 of Americans.

You and I probably have different ideas of what constitutes the "conservative base." It is NOT the Tea Party. The average conservatives I meet aren't lunatics, but they are religious, and they are fiscally conservative.

Nah you just have to be a transcendent candidate that can appeal to that constituency without alienating moderates. Which is the key demographic for any nominee.

I will say that it's a ticket that very few are talking about nationally. Once you look at their credentials and take into account demographics, it starts to make a lot of sense.

Germerica sent me a PM with his ticket. Mind. Blown. I would tell you, but I gotta spend all my time making plans to move to France until the upcoming Republican administration is out of power.
There is both a minority and a woman on the projected ticket, but neither of the people you mentioned are on it.

The problem with moving to France only on a temporary basis is that the replacements for Kennedy, Scalia, and Thomas will be around until you're old, grey, and don't give a s*** anymore.

I also wouldnt go so far as to call it a projection, but if Republicans were smart that's who they would put forward. Looking at the map, amongst other factors, it's the ticket that would give them their best shot.

Well, the Reeps have at least learned some of the lessons from 2012...

    http://theweek.com/article/index/255572/the-republicans-new-primary-calendar-is-rigged

It looks like threats from corporate America to get the teahadists under control or face funding... er, I mean, contribution cutbacks has been heard loud and clear by the RNC politburo. These new rule changes might help them avoid, say, the disaster of the spectacle of all GOP candidates in a debate idiotically raising their hands to say they'd turn down a debt reduction deal that worked in their favor by a margin of 10 to 1.

The trouble is they've only learned lessons about electioneering, not about coming up with realistic policies that actually help most Americans or avoiding saying incredibly stupid things about women and minorities.

It will be interesting to see how the teahadists react to their diminished influence under these new rules. I'm sure many will blame "socialists", "gays" or "Muslims" because having to admit that the crackdown came from mainstream CEOs who were horrified by the insanity of the most recent government shut down would make them choke.

The new schedule sets up even better for Rand Paul with the traditional 4 at the front and the winner take alls at the back. He has to really step in it not to get the nomination.

I went with Ryan, but if I had chosen Christie, nothing that's happened thus far would make me change my choice.
