14th min: Yellow card to Raphael for a professional foul just outside the MU 18. Westwood puts in the free kick. Fans look...wow.
20th: Rooney is just outside the 6 and left absolutely alone. Puts a simple, flatfooted header in. No chance for Brad.
"Guzman" shows how good he is at sweepin' and collects another long pass under pressure from Rooney. The announcer talks about the high line Villa plays, and the role (active, "good at sweepin'") Guzan plays underneath it.
That was a cracker of a free kick from Rooney and he may go for the trick. Classic break a drought(home) and go on a tear. Sucks for Guzano today , Rooney is feeling it, and Villa backline is having a 'mare.
Painfully apt (for me) golf metaphor used to describe Benteke's whiff on a point blank shot right in front of De Gea: "three off the tee".
Think so. How many times do you see misses like Benteke's followed by the other team sealing the deal? Feels like lots.
Brad with a great save against Rooney in the 71st minute. Replay shows it's a really strong reaction save with his left hand, only, against a well struck shot by Rooney who was only about 10 feet away.
What's interesting is the other guy, who does know Guzan's name, has studiously avoided pronouncing it at all. Nice guy, doesn't want to show up his partner.
Why doesn't he write a note or something, then? Imagine if an American broadcaster made a similar mistake. Oh man, people would go berserk.
Good question. I was just watching Grant Hill talking about a basketball game last night and he'd clearly muffed somebody's (can't remember who) name earlier in the broadcast and was still apologizing for it 30 minutes later. I mean, in the grand scheme of things it's not that big of a deal. More amusing than anything else. But if your main job is describing who does what, there ought to be some commitment to getting the "who" part correct.
Some guy named Chicha-something makes it 4-1. edit: National team rivalries aside, it is stunning to see Hernandez, who always seemed to play with such joy, playing the way he is now. He's just...grim.
