Son can help his brother out by scoring and putting M...bach down. I'm unclear what sort of squad Dortmund will put out vs. Frankfurt.

Both Koo Ja Cheol and Son Heung Min are on the bench for their respective teams. Wolfsburg need to win this last match of the season...

    Not necessarily...

If Hamburg win [against Borussia M'glbach] and Frankfurt draw/lose, then Wolfsburg are staying up. If both Hamburg and Wolfsburg draw and Frankfurt lose against BVB, then Wolfsburg are safe.

If Hamburg and Wolfsburg draw and Frankfurt wins, then M'glbach goes down and Wolfsburg are in the relegation/promotion playoff match.

Looks like Koo will be playing in the BL again next year. Phew. We'll see how Magath rates him for next season.

EDIT: maybe spoke too soon. ESPN gave em an extra goal.
    EDIT2: No. its 3-1

Felix Magath is not allowing Koo Ja Cheol to play in next months Olympic 2012 Qualifiers. It must be pretty hard for Hong Myung Bo - first Cho Kwang Rae and now Magath. But this he can't do anything about because its the club. The club has more control over Koo than anyone else.
I think Hong Myung Bo will ask personally for Koo, we'll see what happens.

I'm not sure but from the article it says that Magath said "Koo needs a rest. He has played too much over the two years so he wants to give him time off".
I can only think of one direct replacement for Koo - which is Yoon Bit Garam, but then again, Yoon Bit Garam is taken by Cho Kwang Rae.
I'm sure there will be someone good willing to take up the chance in captain Koo's absence.

I would rather have Koo rest as well. I'm sure we'll make it through the qualifiers without him anyways. its good to hear that magath cares about koo's condition. i can only speculate that he's gonna be a vital player for next season.

I am guessing that a portion of that rest will include cultural integration. Hopefully Koo is decent with his languages. Having a basic footballing vocabulary will help him in his role since communication is so key for a CM.

Yeah didn't Koo go straight from a K-League season to the Asian Cup and then to the Bundesliga? It could easily end up as a LCY 2.0 situation.

But of course according to footballchic all our players are undertrained and out of shape, so maybe Magath will keep Koo in Germany for a specially designed, grueling training regimen.

It basically is the same situation. And don't forget that he played in all the matches during the Asian Games last fall before the K-League ended...

So a couple weird transfer rumours concerning Wolfsburg today...

Liverpool are apparently interested in Diego. I guess Comolli hasn't been watching them this past season. That and he hasn't watched Diego at Juve.

And according to the hacks at Goal, Wolfsburg are interested in signing Honda. If (1) Honda goes there and (2) our youth prospect breaks into the senior squad, they could potential field a starting XI w/ 2 Koreans and 2 Japanese players. Interesting... But then again, it's from Goal, so I give the story barely any credence for now.
