Really poor game by the Chileans. Chile was totally dominated (even before the red card). If this is anything to go by Chile will struggle in this group and I have stopped seeing them as favourites to progress.

The only players which dd any good was Beausejour who gave a confident performance after they went a man down and actually made Chile look more dangerous than in the first half and Fuentes who was a rock in defence.

    LOL.

Yesterday we had only 3 starters on the field (Ponce, Vidal and Fernández, and this last one shouldn't be a starter in the WC).

With Bravo(GK), Medel(CB), Isla(RM), Carmona(CM), Sánchez(RF), Suazo(CF) and González(LF) on the field, we'll qualifie in the group H. Also, everybody wants to see Valdivia("10") in the line-up, instead Fernández.

Thx. Don't know the Chile side. I was just surprised how poor they played yesterday, because I was expecting more... Does however seem that Chile lacks quality subs in that case...

    True.

We have 14 good players, and Bielsa knows it.

I don't know, i think we can replace 1 or 2 players without a loss in performance...but not 7, like we did against Mexico, specially since we didn't have any strikers at all.

Still they were horrible. Truly, Mexico should have had 3 or 4 goals in the first 15 or 20 minutes. Does not bode well for Chile's back ups.

I think that means that Chile can make it out of the group, but they won't make it far. Only teams with a bench can succeed at this level.

If we face Brazil in 1/8 finals, it'll be hard to keep advancing.
But if we play against Portugal or Ivory Coast, at least we have a chance to reach 1/4 finals.
But we're thinking first in beating Honduras and Switzerland. Then, we'll see.

Watching the Zambia - Chile friendly... Chile need to learn how to play with tough physical teams like Zambia. And fast. They keep falling over after the slighest touch. There are places where you can fall over, but being a defender of deep midfielder you have to know not to do so in front of goal. Some nice divers in the team also... the ref is not impressed.

I wouldn't worry about the result. Zambia is one of the most underrated teams in the world. Strong on the ball, physical and fast, have flair and the magic touch, just need to cope with their Kalusha Bwalya syndrome and stop shooting birds at the first sight of goal...

That said Zambia isn't looking as good as they normally do. They have no coach, arrived just yesterday and are missing a few players (but no-one very important).

Shame Zambia disintegrated in the second half, but some real nice footie by Chile BTW. Still Zambia really looked tired and they were giving the ball to Chile even near their own goal by the end of it. Nonetheless really loved some of Chile's passing.

Chile too. Yesterday we missed 6 starters: Waldo Ponce(sweeper), Gary Medel(CB), Arturo Vidal(CB/DM), Matías Fernández(10), Humberto Suazo(CF), Mark González(LF).
And other starters only played 45 minutes yesterday: Gonzalo Jara(CB), Mauricio Isla(RM), Jean Beausejour(LM/LF) and Alexis Sánchez(RF).
So the 3:0 was a very good result for us, considering these absences.

Like I said - they were missing a few players, but no-one key (maybe James Chamanga is the biggest omission).

The main reason you won so big is because the Zambian players tired quickly. By the end of the game the defenders were basically passing you the ball, because they lost focus. They just arrived in Chile less than 24 hours before the match. Plus they had no coach. I can not understand why the staff didn't change any players for Zambia save for one or two... The Zambians stopped running and couldn't pass a ball straight in the second half.

A great result nonetheless, but I'm just a bit mad of outside issues. I really loved some of the Chile passing.
