It's funny how when America beats the traditional powers, everyone is quick to say, "Well, we were playing their second or third squad."
But the only times America loses on the international stage is when we are playing our second and third string....or the refs cheat us due to FIFA's hatred of America

it has to be something in our respective natures. when anyone tries to rank La Liga MX above a European league (Turkey SuperLig; Eredivisie) just to throw out examples) that i respect or i think is underrated, i immediately go into a humble "we're not that good mode/we still have a lot of work to do/its an honor to be mentioned on that list". i really think some of these US fans would try to convince you that a MLS team would make it to the knock-out rounds of Champions. heck, some MLS teams struggle to get out of the CONCAChampions.
