He's hilariously wrong. The Brazilian team that Mexico beat was also the same one that spanked the nads in that friendly back in June. You know, the one where they earned respect.

Also, the olympics tournament DOES have a bearing on "what is going on here." Let's look at the three previous world cup cycles for the nads. They managed to qualify for the Olympics in 2000 and 2008. They then managed to advance to the second round of the world cup in 2002 and 2010. Many of their most important players needed the Olympic experience as a sort of buffer in preparation for the world cup. Hell, they even managed to take fourth place in the 2000 Olys. In 2004, they didn't qualify for the Olys. Remember what ended up happening to them in the 2006 World Cup? Hilarity--that's what we saw.
