LOL. All I was trying to point out is that the US is not a one trick pony and has the resources to bring it

Ok, then by that reasoning why haven't they "brought it" in the world's biggest sport?

Perhaps you should have posted your thinly veiled insult in some Olympics forum and not a soccer forum. What does it matter what your country's economic importance is with regards to soccer performance?

Again, not taking anything away from Mexico's win. Congratulations on the JJOO. My point was to those who came trolling into the USA board, gloating and seeking validation, that while the US IS currently behind Mexico soccer wise, it has not been the US's sole focus or even point of emphasis, which can be seen by all the events the US has medaled in.

Mexico is reaping the fruits of the investment it has made in developing its soccer team, and I was pointing out to those posters that the US has those resources available even though it hasn't invested them historically.

Oh god, it's the "wait until we take soccer seriously, then the rest of the world is in trouble" excuse. That's right up there with "it was our C team" excuse.

Again, not the one that went to the USA board looking for validation. Congratulations to Mexico and their fans on winning the olympic gold medal. Enjoy.

Funny how my social media blows up during the World cup and when the USWNT is doing well. Yet, somehow it just isn't the focal point. Sure they sell out NFL stadiums, but Americans just dont take it seriously yet.

There are more people in this country that take it seriously than in more successful countries like Uruguay or Ghana. A small percentage of 330 million is still bigger than the populations of other countries. So it's no excuse, at all.

You guys should check out john3628 over in the roster thread. I won't post his posts yet, since the game hasn't happened, and he may have the last laugh (yeah right). But man, he and Sweetlife...
