Great column condemning Premiership's Big Three

    True, but Chelsea have generally paid 50% to 75% more than the actual value of each player they've bought, simply because everyone knows they have unlimited resources. Drogba, Carvalho, and Ferreira were grossly overpriced. Robben is the only player I think they got for a bargain price.

    If Chelsea competes for Essien, I can see him going for £25m, but if they don't I can see him going for more like £15m. Arsenal and Man Utd are the two most interest clubs and neither of them are swimming in cash at the moment, unless they sell some big-name players.
