Yeah I was watching the game last night and when Valeri hit that I just thought, "Well there goes GOTW." Higuain's goal was amazing and so was Valeri's. They take different skill sets, but both are worthy.
I'm a team goal guy. I thought the Impact goal was great. But Higuain's combined some great team interplay and a fantastic finish. Not a chance it will win though, bummer. Williams-Kennedy better get save of the week.
I voted of Higuain. It was a pretty goal. I looks like Valeri's was a mistake. It looks like he was trying to hit it with the laces to the left and he duffed it to the right. I think Arnaud was the best. From the pass to the shot.
Andy's was truly heroic. Hamid was flailing at the ball and was in that position because of his blunder where he started to come for the cross, then stopped, leaving himself wide open. Robles was "Meh". It's a reaction save, but it's a save I'd expect most GK's to make at this level. Johnson's was pretty nice. He had good positioning and needed every inch of his size 18 feet (I don't know how big his feet are). But it lacked technique and was born of desperation. Busch's was actually an EXCELLENT save. He had excellent positioning, was patient as Gil cut the ball back, and the angle he took to get to the ball is what made it a save. Good play all around. But Andy's was heroic. 1v1, the forward does an excellent job of not giving him an opportunity to come after the ball, and Andy does a fantastic job of holding his ground, being patient, and playing big.
That's BS on Andy. Hamid gets rewarded for looking spectacular on a play that he screwed up to begin with? I'm ok with Valeri winning, although i'm surprised Higgy came in 4th. Oh well. No one likes us and we don't care.
Disappointing. Hamid's was kind of a floundering save. Andy's was textbook. Oh well... chalk up another one for no one likes us and we don't care!
Why not? It's the epitome of these boards. We treat ourselves as the little sisters of the poor. Why not capitalize on the "Us against the world" attitude? But, this is probably fodder for another thread.
