I HATE Illinois Nazis.
Then have a laugh at it
Partisan gridlock costs the GOP bigtime...
If Elizabeth Warren wins and this seat goes to the Democrats the GOP will be facing some serious doo doo.
The problem here is that the Dems are defending 23 of the 33 seats that are up this year and have 7 Dems retiring, including long serving Dems in red states like Nebraska, New Mexico, and North Dakota, while Snow is the only Republican incumbent retiring from a blue state. Most of the seats where Dems are defending are in blue states, but they've got some red states and swing states like Montana, Ohio, and W. Virginia that could be difficult to keep, compared to the Republicans where only Brown is in a blue state and there aren't any real swing states in the mix. The Dems could be looking at the very real possibility of losing 4 or 5 seats and having to win in Maine and Massachusetts to maintain the majority.
Until PPP says otherwise Arizona is a purple state. I think if Dems get lucky with a beaten-up Mitt or a Santorum nominee, they can play offense in Maine, Massachusetts, Nebraska (come on Kerrey!), Arizona, and Indiana. If the GOP has to defend the four GOP-held seats in that batch and fight to pick up Nebraska, they won't be able to go after Montana, Missouri, Florida, or Wisconsin and the chance of getting +4 is over. Wouldn't hurt if Feingold runs against Walker.
There's not much purple about Arizona, IMHO. They'll need a real teabagger for a Dem to have much of a chance. Granted, with the state of the AZ Republican party, they very well could end up with an Angle or O'Donnell.
Although, I will admit that I didn't think Nevada was in play, but according to RCP it is. If a Dem gets Nevada, that's a major GOP fail.
Not sure how partisan this website is but they do project + 4 for the GOP.
The guy is a conservative, sure, but he knows his stuff. In 2004 he got only Iowa and Wisconsin wrong, and in 2008 he only got Missouri, North Carolina, and Indiana wrong. Pretty reliable. His House races are a little less reliable but his Senate races but they are usually more volatile to predict anyway.
That had to have been from before Snowe's announcement. I like Real Clear Politics a bit better:
They've got 46 Dem, 8 toss-ups, and 46 Reps. Although I'm not sure how they have Michigan as a toss-up with Stabenow getting double digit leads in polls now.
I'm not a racist, I just like racist jokes because they make me feel good and I want my buddies to feel what I'm feeling even though I'm not a racist....really, I'm not....a racist. Did I mention I'm not a racist?
Boy, Maher really it with his "Denying racism is the new racism" comment.
Repubs ready to duke it out......among themselves?
Before I hit the floor laughing is there anyone on BS from South Carolina that can confirm this?
If You’ve Had Pre-Marital Sex, You Can’t Be A Republican
South Carolina GOP is Pro-Soccer!
Steven Colbert's Head Explodes
"...State GOP chairman Chad Connelly told the Chronicle that he doesn’t necessarily oppose the idea. “If we are wearing the same uniform I want to be sure we are kicking the ball toward the same goal, or are you moving against me.”
Next thing you know they will be trying to close the roller disco.
This looks like major GOP fail to me....
Well, they were too busy focusing on "jobs, jobs, jobs" like a laser, you see. That's why they accomplished so much on that front.
republican national committee says obama treats houston like a campaign atm/
The hilarious part is that he said that, yet Slick hair Rick is in Austin doing the exact same thing .
The Republicans have spent the past 3 years campaigning nonstop against Obama. So now they are upset that The President is campaigning? Cry me a river.
The GOP very much needs $5 gas prices. I really don't know what else the Republicans will run on. Recycled W economics? Bomb Iran? Culture wars? I don't see the GOP as having anything in its arsenal except for a loathing of Obama, and with job growth recovering the people aren't going to loathe Obama unless gas costs too much.
I didn't read the article, but I think it's appropriate that Obama gives Texans ass to mouth.
Txtriathlete would prefer it the other way around.
It's bad enough I have Cornyn as my Rep(even though Sheila Jackson Lee in the next district over doesn't help neither.
Why do think the GOP candidates are focusing on birth control and who loves Jesus more while not saying anything serious about the economy? Still, there's some bad news for them:
Why Gas Prices Won't Influence the Election:
And just to pile on that theme:
More on why "drill baby drill" won't impact gas prices:
Both parties are getting stupid about gas prices:
Well of course they are because Presidents don't have anything to do with gas prices, but the public thinks otherwise. The politicians become stupid because the public demands them to be that way.
