Actually, if you read the whole article, he makes reference to "the rest of his season with sheffield". He also refers to the club as 'sheffield' in the BBC article linked here a few days ago. It's hardly the end of the world, or anything, but it annoys virtually Wednesday fan I know.
with anyone, pretty much. but with players (or anyone associated with the club) it's probably just a little more annoying. again, it's not a huge deal. I mean, it's not like anyone's genuinely upset about it. it's just one of those things that - and presumably because it's common enough - gets under folks' skin.
Played through the virus. Wednesday get the win in extra time. Oguchi Onyewu's stats: 18/30 passes completed, 1 successful dribble, 2 fouls drawn. 2 tackles, 9 interceptions, 4 clearances. WSRating: 8.22 (MOTM)
Losing 4-1 against Watford with 25 mins to go. No clue if he's been involved in any of the goals but can't be a good feeling for him.
??? Whoscored has this as FT 4-1. Onyewu rated at 7.19 and apparently had a shot that hit the woodwork.
It is so great to see Gooch playing well and being recognized. He has been my favorite national teamer since I can remember and all the injuries kept bumming me out.
From the highlights I saw, it was tough to make out his role in most of the goals. On #4, he made a solid play to deflect a shot attempt, but after the deflection, he turned and walked backwards as the ball caromed around and was eventually put in. I'm a fan of the guy, but he seems to have a pronounced tendency to quit on plays.
from everything I'm hearing, the back four were shyte, all the way across. some have put more blame on the fullbacks. one or two have claimed gooch 'the best of a bad bunch'. but no one's suggesting any of the defenders were better than bad.
Leicester are up a goal already... I don't think this is technically the clincher for them, but should they win tonight, and QPR lose and Derby not win tomorrow, they are officially promoted....
Gooch came off at halftime espn says it was because of an injury. Onyewu just can't get a healthy run.
Rib injury, so hopefully not too big a deal. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...leaves-sheffield-wednesday-loss-injured-halft
I caught the delayed broadcast on beIN and thought he did well during the half he was on the field. Apparently, the injury it is a back issue and he is going for an exam.
