Yeh but he is in Villarreal now. He is surrounded by players who have more or so, the same ability. Its not fair to another player that earns his spot to let it be taken away just to give Matias a chance.

Also, for the national team he hasnt been a star either. If we made a list of our best players in national team according to national team level, he wouldnt even be top 5.

Matias Fernandez is a playmaker. Pires is a winger, Santi Carzola is a winger, Cani plays on both the right and left, Ibagaza has been playing in la liga since 1998. Matias Fernandez is not fitting into Pellegrini's tactical system that is the problem.

When playing for the national team Fernandez plays the role that he knows because that's what he is a playmaker.

Take into consideration that he is hardly playing in Villarreal which is a fact and see how he performs whenever he dresses in La Roja given the very limited time he has to train with Bielsa.

I think if he doesn't play we might soon see Valdivia getting back his place....

Due to many suspensions that carried over from the Vasco game, Fierro will be getting his first chance in the starting lineup this Sunday vs Fluminense.

I guess it's time to show why CC fans loved him and earn his paycheck.

Not like this means much, but Fierro and newly acquired Emerson were the two players who have finished shots the best in this week's training. For anyone interested, the game starts in 40 min.

One good thing I must say about Fierro is he is a good professional. He hasn't whinned or complained about not getting a chance as a starter and has continued to work hard. Hopefully he can show something today, and maybe get a couple good crosses in which has been his weakpoint for me in his time here so far.

    0x0 HT.

Fierro got a yellow card and missed one of our best goal opportunities, one-on-one with the goalie. So far I haven't seen anything special. Seems to be a common player to me.

1x1 FT. Fierro was substituted out for Messi's cousin, Maxi Biancucchi with 15 min to go in the 2nd half. Fierro disappeared in the 2nd half and did not really contribute anything.

I am willing to give him other opportunities, but it's not looking good for him. I hope we can get rid of him in the middle of the year. He is a class act, but he hasn't really adapted well here. I realized he was a good player at CC, but I am sure Chile has other players in his position that are better and can be used on the NT.

Fierro had a good first half. He made his "opportunistic" goal after SPFC's GK made a mistake. After that, he made a beautiful, low-lying cross from the right wing to Adriano, who was 1v1 with the GK and missed a goal because his right foot isn't great.

In the 2nd half, Fierro disappeared. I hardly remember him touching the ball very much. On a few counter attacks, he gave the ball away to the opposition. I'd still continue to give him chances.

Lo mejor que podria hacer este cabro es irse a Argentinos Jrs., con el guaton parrillero. Me parece que es el unico que le puede sacar rendimiento.
