It's about respect....for your surroundings. That shit doesnt fly in the USA, the USA does not represent the futbol culture in the rest of the world. If that happened in Mexico, I wouldnt care but it raises eyebrows in an environment that does not welcome that kind of behavior. That's all I'm saying. If one wants to behave like an animal in ones own country, then that's fine but have some class/respect/dignity/manners when in other surroundings, where that shit isnt acceptable

LOL....every Phillies game that I have ever been to has been like that. The Dodgers vs the Giants in the Pavilions are like that. Chargers vs. Raiders...check that....Raiders vs. anyone. On....and on....and on.....

The point that needs to be understood is that we are trying to grow the game of association football in our sporting culture where as those other games are not.

I was asked by the Texans FO back in '03 to provide some ideas on how they can grow their profits from these international soccer matches at Reliant and so I gave them a 3 page document with several ideas.
My main suggestion was "safety first" and having better security for the folks that turn up to our CONCACAF events and are forced to stand next to a rival supporter.

There are many of us down here in Houston that have worked very hard over many years to grow the beautiful game in our city and I will be the first to tell you that shit can and will hit the fan at Gold Cup soccer matches or MLB stands out in the cheap seats. Shit happens. Check. But a better and more wise outlook on how footy fans can interact with each other after large doses of chelas is what's needed asap.

 

ppl need to stop being butt hurt shit like this happens all the freakin time...no one is going to be able to stop it as long as people have alcohol and racy comments are made between people...let it goo damnn!

With all due respect... These concepts of trolling and socks (now insects too) are totally misused to dismiss legitimite posts. The fact is that last night's game was apalling in many levels which even the totality of the Mexican Press deplored.

You can call me anything you like but the fact is that you would do best to address the points I listed (politely, I believe) that simply recurr to name calling and threats. I am not calling anyone names and, in fact, I support Mexico - except when they play a couple of teams that are closer to home.

Have you heard of the original soccer forum on Usenet - rec.sport.soccer. Those were the days of open dialogue and camaraderie by those of us who love the beautiful game. I was one of the earliest members and had more time in my hands at the time.

There was a Mexican (Arturo ?last-name?) who was an encyclopaedia of knowledge, not just on Mexican soccer but the world wide game. We sometimes disagreed but we dialogued.

You're beyond naive if you think that the bulk of Mexico supportors actually live in Mexico. It's impossible to prove I'm fairly certain that most of them were either us citizens or legal residents. The way I see it is our house, unless you meant white citizens only. You're just full of pathetic arguments.

Again not excusing what some did but if everone is so bent and
horrified I recommend the mls. I'm fairly certain that you won't see any shenanigans, violence, passion, etc.

 

We're talking about the fans like we've never seen them throw crap on the field before. Hell even Salvadorean fans were throwing sh!t at the Costa Rican players on every corner kick. Classless? Yeah. New? Hell no. When it comes to Aguirre, he just embarrassed himself and the team. Even the English SportsCenter gave his stupid ass mistake some air time. He better get his act together, cause him along with his useless assistants haven't given us anything. Except going against everything he promised not to do, and yesterday's infamous act.
