Im coming to Chicago on the 25th for a few days as some of you know. I have got a few bits from the Arsenal shop for some of you who requested stuff, if there is anyone who will be at the Globe on the Saturday 26th for the England v N.Ireland match and would like stuff from the Arsenal shop, please let me know by Monday morning my time latest!!!!! Thanks Rick Look forward to seeing some of you out there.
Rick, What time are you going to be at The Globe? What size shirt do you wear? Just curious. I am really looking forward to meeting you. Not everyday, I get a chance to meet a class act person who happens to be a Gooner!
Rick, please pick up a nice bag of fish and chips for me before you head to the airport. Lots of vinegar too, please. I really love authentic English fish and chips, you just can't get it in the states. Make sure they give you a paper bag, plastic pollutes, and please hold them on your lap so they don't get crushed. Thanks a bunch!
I can tell you Rick wears a Medium - I bought him a large LA Galaxy shirt and it was way too big. Rick - Have a good time in Chicago - you're missing out on some good LA weather and big surf, but Chicago will be a good time. Have fun and enjoy the trip.
Have a great time in Chicago Rick. I'm very fond of California given that I grew up there but will say that Chicago is a great place to visit.
I was hoping to sneak away and use a free ticket to get up there for the big weekend, but my sister is coming down here on her Spring Break for the same weekend. Oh well. If you could, and I know this sounds weird, could you bring over an Arsenal bumper sticker and I'll see if Dan could mail it down to me. Seems weird but I'd like to advertise Arsenal down here in South Texas. Plus it won't take up too much room in your suitcase! Cheers Rick.
No probs, doesn't sound weird at all mate. have you looked on the online store to see which one you want?
Might show up myself, depends on how the timing and scheduling all works out. Hope I do get to run into you, since I owe you a couple of pints, IIRC.
Doesn't really matter, just so long as it says Arsenal really big. Maybe this one, or this or the Champions one from last year. Thanks again! I could go for one of most everything in the shop but I am saving up for a trip to the shop on my own in the Fall!
LOL.... tempting to wear my Cantona shirt to piss off all parties present and have my ass handed to me by multiple drunken English and Irish fans, but I think I'll play it safe and wear my England shirt.
Fair enough, I'll be the one in the Arsenal away training shirt with the English accent with it seems, quite a few Arsenal bags around me!!!!
Rick, I believe earlier you had mentioned contacting Nick at the Chicago Fire. He's actually my ticket contact, and a friend of mine from college. I'll have to find out if he'll be there, since he lives nearby I think.
I've been to see the Chicago Gunner twice, and you'll be surprised how many people at the globe will fit that description
Nick will be there, Ive spoken to him and it was him who sorted hotel accomadation out for me (thanks again Nick).
Good to know, I'll look for the group. Hope you all keep an eye out for me... probably won't be too many Indian folks there wearing an England kit.
You guys doing anything other than getting drunk at the Globe while watching a friendly that has no Arsenal players in it? Just Kidding, no seriously, I'm starting to feel guilty about not going, so I might just have to, I already botched one travel plan of mine this year. So what about the remainder of that weekend? There comes a time when a man must commit himself to getting on a plane and flying to a bar, just to get drunk. That time is nearing.
To bad you guys just can't see that image burned on my brain of Catfish standing up on his chair at Gingers during the ManU/Highbury game last trying to pick a fight with the United Supporters table. classic
SLO-Gunner and I managed to get along without a punch being thrown... of course, my fiance was with me, so I was on "good behaviour". Although, some of the Gunners that were there would have had a problem with me after they were cheering and clapping when a Palace player clattered into Henize pretty harshly....
Man, Doug told me that you all have plans that evening and I'm beginning to think that neither of you will be able to see straight by the time you leave. I haven't been truly pissed in quite a while... This is shaping up to be quite a crowd. Where was everyone at kickoff last Saturday, just about a half dozen of us then. Maybe we should all get nametags.
it was shades of Muhammad Ali calling himself "truculent" in a post-fight interview with Howard Cosell! billy get on that plane for next weekend, you can crash at my crib.
I thought it was Cossell asking Ali if thought he being a bit "truculent" and Ali respond, "I don't know, but if thats good, then I was" Motter Mrs. Catfish was no where to be found when yelling was going on. I'm always confused about what to call the people I know on this board, I figured if you want to give out your real name you would but its hard to not call Billyho . . . Billy . . . just to use my name as an example. Its funny actually, the people I have met from this board, like Catfish and Detlef and Runes, are just like I thought they would be, all great guys. Some of you though, like Zani, Nice, and Motter, . . . I just gotta met before I die, cause you're all such azzzz . . .jk . . . I can't get a mental picture
