    :(

Not sure if this deserved its own thread, but there is much more in the article as well. Read on at: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A2927-2004Dec15.html

    Also an interesting tidbit:

Well, this is intersting since Goff told me the only free agents were Stewart, Petke and Nelsen...

    But good news nonetheless.

I didn't know Prideaux was a free agent, but I figured that Namoff would be getting a raise.

This makes watching baseball struggle to get a final deal all the more sweeter.

Since I moved to Germantown this summer I'd been hoping DCU would play out at the soccerplex again. It'd be cool to walk to a match from home!

I think we probably got the best possible draw in one of the Jamaican teams. I forget, how bad did we beat Tivoli Gardens a few seasons back at RFK?

I actually WANT baseball for a couple reasons, not the least of which would be the fact that it will be a huge catalyst for us getting our SSS built.

Not Tivoli, Arnett Gardens - and you beat them 2-1 (after winning 3-0 on the road.)

Right you are- Thanks. For some reason I thought we had beaten them by a larger margin.

Does anyone know the seating capacities of the soccerplex and Ludwig Field?

No beer in either venue, but the cops are less like Nazis in College Park. I 'vote' for Ludwig.

If the baseball deal falls thru there won't be any baseball at RFK next year. Is it really going to take them three months to put La Norte back?

If they don't, hopefully we can get into the upper deck. We could really catch air on the TP then.

i had lunch with zack last week and lobbied hard for Ludwig. for one thing you can tailgate (with alcohol) at Ludwig and the campus is metro accessible. Not to mention easier to get to for most fans than Germantown.

We could always play them in the Meadowlands, our Home away from Home. :D

Ludwig seems like the obvious choice. Hope it happens although I'll follow my boys where ever they play.

Maybe you're thinking of Joe Public from Trinidad?

We beat them 8-0 at RFK the year we hosted the CCC. They had no answer for the silky skills of Rocket Roy ;)

If it's the SoccerPlex, will the authorities let Begbie in?? ;)

The capacity at Ludwig is 4000 only when they add the extra stands. Normally, it's around 1200. Does anyone know if they've removed the stands that they had up for the NCAA playoff matches?

Not this fan... College Park is in a traffic nightmare zone coming from this side of the world. All I have to do is go over the river and through the woods to get to the SoccerPlex. We managed to tailgate just fine there the last 3 times I've been there; after being hassled severely by the man and having our liquor stolen the time before that! Granted, you have to drive half a mile from the tailgate to the stadium for the game ...
Besides, I enjoy riding the General Jubal A. Early ferry across the river for some reason.

The metro I can't argue with. It does me no good at all, but would help a few people get there.

After winning 3-0 in Jamaica, we went with a few subs in the return match and won 2-1. Here's our lineup that day (4/11/01):

Mike Ammann; Judah Cooks, Mark Watson, Carey Talley (Capt.), Eric Denton (Ray Goodlett, 80’); Mark Lisi, Jose Alegria, Brian Kamler (Ryan Nelsen, 46’), Bobby Convey (Bryan Namoff 62’); Santino Quaranta, Abdul Thompson Conteh.

After they scored in the 23rd, Talley scored on a PK in the 30th, and Lisi won it in the 86th with assists from Quaranta and Namoff.

Even with that lineup, we led in shots 24-9 and shots on goal 12-6.

And, surprisingly for a Wedneday night game in April against a team nobody had heard of, we drew 9,117 at RFK.

You think they're gonna put La Norte back? Maybe if La Norte pays for it...

If baseball doesn't come to RFK it would be in the DCSEC's best interest to have those seats put back. They could then host WCQ's, concerts and not to mention give the season ticket holders their seats back.
