Re: Show is from 8 - 10 pm tonight Canetti taking calls

The Canetti segment was fairly worthless. Glenn lofted mostly stadium-related softball questions to him about ticket sales, suites, etc. The callers had two lame questions about the stadium and the practice facility. Yeah, ticket sales are great, etc.

The one interesting item was that they are trying to get some tailgating lots contracted from private holders or I assume just funnel ticketholders to them for tailgating parking. Some sort of business relationship with them.

He did make it clear that Costly and Camarago were going to be evaluated at year-end to see if their options make sense.

Hey did Glenn mention anything about the NBA lockout??? NBA's first two weeks of the regular season gone with both sides still divided.

The trashy sitch that the NBA is in could be MLS' treasure. I mean...don't expect a spectacular spike in new fans but with some top tier players playing in Europe and the NBA season in jeapardy it could point fans slightly toward MLS even during the NFL's infinite popularity.

If Apple stops producing MP3 players will you go out and buy a Panasonic stereo? Both provide music but with different objectives. I do not buy the whole if x sport fails then MLS will get more fans. The NBA fans could have gone to MLS games during off-season, so I don't think a lockout will get a spike in fans.

I read and see your point. Did you read mine? I was saying in a way that it could be a good thing.

Look, I was bored with basketball and baseball when I went to a game at the Rob and fell in love. It's possible. Glass half full man. Geez.

I apologize you're right. Consider it the fault of a whole lifetime of hearing our time has come mumble jumble....I do hope one day we earn the respect the NBA, MLB, and NFL have...hell at this point I'll settle for NHL!

I know...right? "Soccer has the most participation of any sport with youth...blah blah blah." I think surpassing NHL should be the goal for sure. Hard(dang near impossible) to beat out the big 3. I don't think we'll live to see soccer eclipse any of the big 3, but I'm okay with that. I just want to see the Dynamo play Chelsea or Man U or Barca in the club world cup someday. *sigh* Domestic stuff is great, but the international club tourneys are what get me all hot 'n bothered. :D

International club tourneys are what separates us from the other sports. Nothing cooler than listening to two national anthems followed by a heated game that can crown you the best in North, Central America and the Caribbean!

Danny Cruz, Bobby Boswell and Moffat added to the lineup tonight. If you haven't seen it you have to watch Kinnear with this "spike" on the ball after Camargo's miss.

It is at 5:02 in the video:

Another hilarious video with Dom in action again. Dom "thanks" the KC fans for booing him. You have to watch the whole video but especially at 1:50. Hilarious....

I want to point out that those of us over in the away supporter section didn't hear any of the audio of the trophy presentation. Even Don Garber mentions the fact that the stadium PA was out.

Except for that little bit with Dom.

There was no one booing Dom. There was hardly anyone left in the stadium at that point except Dynamo fans. I think what Dom heard was feedback from the PA that they were trying to get working again.

If you notice when they hand the trophy to Ching there is no reaction from anyone not on the stage. You don't hear any cheering or anything. That's because we had no idea what was going on. We were far away and behind the podium. There is one cutaway shot to the Dynamo supporters but we are just milling around because we were unaware that the trophy had been presented.

At least we didn't have to hear that FSC announcer guy congratulating the SKC crowd. I had no idea that happened. Of course neither did the SKC fans since they either weren't in the stadium by that point or couldn't hear the non-existent stadium PA.

And I would like to point out that I was right in front of the presentation (we moved over from the corner by the Cauldron) and we couldn't hear anything they said either. I had no idea any of that was going on, and I was looking right at them. I thought they were just talking amongst themselves waiting for the presentation to start. Really lame, and you know that if it were KC being presented the trophy they would have worked to get things right.

Glenn Davis is having a 3-hour Mega Show at Orange Bar Tomorrow night as a Warm-Up for their MLS Cup Watch Party.

The show is from 8-11 at 1613 Richmond. He's working on seeing if he can get a couple players out for the show - will post that info as it becomes available.

I hope Glen mentions what his favorite Dynamo T-Shirt that he saw at the cup was.
