There is a Gilbert Bayonne on trial with FC Magdeburg of the German Regionalliga. He is listed in the article as an American. He is also listed as American on his agent's webiste; however, there are several other sites that claim he is Haitian. Perhaps he is a dual national. He is currently there with Johann Smith and another American named Daniel Ortega, and they all seem to be competing for the same roster spot.

This is finally happening as Bayonne is going to trial with BidVest Wits of the South African Premier League. The article also confirms that he holds dual citizenship - Haiti and the US
Bayonne had trials with a couple South African PL teams. Apparently they did not go well leading the author of this article to speculate that Bayonne would be better suited to a profession of picking fruit or chopping down trees.
Bayonne appears to have found a home. This article/interview states that he had a successful trial with S League club Tanjong Pagar and will sign when the transfer window opens. As a free agent isn't he able to sign now? Perhaps this is an S League restriction, I don't know anything about this team or the Singapore league system.
