Once again injured.... Our big money striker didn't pay off this season. Who should we look at for next season? Sergio
I don't know if I'd necessarily gripe about him, considering how many of our other players have been out injured. Keiron has been on and off from hamstring issues. AJ only played the first half up in Cleveland because his hamstring isn't right yet. Last night was the first night in a long time that we've seen Jarius Holmes, if I remember right. I'd almost forgotten he was even on the team.
It really doesn't even matter if we get someone else. The turf will do it's job and quickly injure any new signing.
I think its perfectly fair to gripe about the player who is presumed to be the highest paid player on the team. For what he is being paid we can have two other players who at the least can help rotate the team lineup and keep others fresh. Another complaint is that these other players were injured while playing. Gifton hasn't played, period. Look he might be the greatest guy but I don't see that winning games on the field. sergio
You are a dreamer, have patience. It(He,She) does not need to play to gain(earn) parties(games), this one over the earthly thing. To remember! He is the prophet, the fact that traera good things to your city and equipment(team). When noel went away of ELCHE, Thanks to, another player came Leather dark man, WAKASO, which is a phenomenon. Do you understand me?
What Cal is trying to say, methinks, Hincha is that even if The Gift doesn't do very much for us as a player, he may herald the comming of a good player/good things for the club. We will see I personally think we just need him and more experienced players like him, both on the pitch and on the bench, to stick sum much needed maturity and disciplin into our talented, but young and green, starters.
Noel-Williams sees full day of practice: http://www.austinaztex.com/news/headlines/index.html?article_id=138 Please no more hamstring or any other injuries. * fingers cross *
Not only that, on the radio show today Adrian said that he's hopeful we'll see him on the field Saturday.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL THE ARRIVAL of the prophet!!!! That goal mas nice that consiguio in the game, it if, your goalkepper is a bit bad! MUCHA SUERTE APARTIR DE AHORA GIFTON NOEL ELISHA RUBEN WILLIAMS!
I thought Gifton looked great on Saturday. I hope he stays healthy and keeps the pace he displayed last week.
I'll stand up and play the villain here. I'm not convinced by a single goal. I'd love for him to prove me wrong during the remainder of the season though.
I agree Roma - but I will say that at least for 30 minutes he impressed me. The bar he set was low hopefully he can continue along this pace.
ANOTHER ANOTHER ANOTHER GOAL OF THE PROPHET!! To follow his way, it is the chosen one, it was not marking spectacular goals, but it marks them... GO GIFTON GO!!!!! i believe in noel williams!! http://elchecf.webelix.com/viewtopic.php?t=90999&start=1860
For the Gifton doubters, he has three goals in 441 minutes. As compared to Johnson's 4 goals in 1514 minutes. I know, all that probably shows is how weak our offense has been. But let's look at it another way: Gifton - 3 goals, 8 games. Johnson - 4 goals, 17 games. I've looked at goalscorers a lot, and the very best of the best will give you a goal per game average. And a goal every other game average is a very solid goalscorer. If you check the MLS goalscorers table, you'll notice that most of the players are scoring at just better than a goal every other game. So for all the complaints that I hear about Gifton, when he's out there, he's doing a solid job. Here's hoping that he stays injury-free for the rest of the season.
THE YEAR THAT COMES gifton sera the real bastion of the equipment. GO GIFTON GO!!! GIFTON YOU´LL NEVER WALK ALONE!!!
Well, he did walk alone on Sunday night when he was shown a straight red in the 77'. Granted, it appeared to be a harsh red. Seriously though, Gifton's been doing much better in our last 4 or 5 matches of the season. His movement has improved as a target man, and I believe we'll see him again in the 2010 season.
and in the 2010 season will be his big year. NOELIANA CHURCH TRUST IN YOU Gifton! Gifton GO GO !!!!!!!!!! NOEL YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE ....
I was there for the two Vancouver matches, thought he looked alright, not spectacular, but very efficient as a target guy. He probably won as many knock-downs against the Whitecaps center backs as anyone has all year. I thought the send-off was harsh, it looked to me like just an awkward tangling of legs, although a couple people around me thought he came in with studs up.
Thanks, SAFC. It was difficult to see it on USLLive.com, so we relied on some of our fans who were in Vancouver for the match. It's hard to tell as Gifton has a lot of time in some very tough squads (Stoke City) and leagues, so sometimes what would pass there gets him cards in USL. BTW, very nice pitch!
