http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2012/04/chicago-fire-gibbs-out-up-to-6-months.html Wow. This sucks almost as much as our mods. Though if Arne Friedrich is healthy it might not be so bad.
Best of luck to Cory Gibbs with his recovery. Well, it is a damned good thing we signed Arne Friedrich.
Our most injury prone starter gets injured at our deepest position? This was kinda expected. Rulas, we have Anibaba, Friedrich, Kwame, and Arne, and I also think Segares might need to move into the middle the way Arne has from the wing.
When I saw this news, I honestly had no surprise whatsoever. My only reaction was simply a sigh of expected disappointment. The man is built out of fine porcelain. Arne and Friedrich are the same person. If needed, Jumper can play on the inside.
Is Gargan still out? If yes, I would start: ****Johnson**** *****Anibaba*****Austin*****Arne*****Hunter***** And thanks to Arne, no one can say it's a young back line...
My understanding is this Juan David Duque who's been trialing with us is both under contract with MLS and can play both left and centerback. Might we see him added to the Fire roster soon?
Baky Soumare wants to comeback to the MLS, but he has to go through the allocation order since we received a transfer fee for him. But I think its an option worth checking out.
If you want someone as tall as Steve Cherundolo playing in the middle of an MLS backline, then yes Juan David Duque is your man. Having seen him up close, he can't be bigger than 5'6". No thanks.
Would love to have Soumare back, but I think we are like 7-8 in the allocation order. So were pretty F'd in the A on that one. Let's just sign Drogba, then we don't have to worry about the defense cuz we can just outscore everybody. lol
No you don't. http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2012/04/conde-could-miss-a-month-with-groin-injury.html
