Getafe CF vs Real Madrid CF
    Coliseum Alfonso Perez
    February 4th, 2012 at 20:00 CET, 2:00PM EST, 11:00AM PST

We lead the league 7 points clear from the stench. It is the filthy cules who will have their hopes on us dropping points against Getafe. They will be drowning themselves in their desire for us to lose so much that they will momentarily hold their arbitral complaints until after we play our match.

    Getafe's Last 5 Matches:
    • Sun. Jan. 29 @ Levante 2-1 Win
    • Sat. Jan. 21 @ Racing 2-1 Win
    • Sat. Jan. 14 @ Zaragoza 1-1 Draw
    • Sun. Jan. 08 vs Athletic 0-0 Draw
    • Sat. Dec. 17 @ Mallorca 2-1 Win

Getafe have been on a decent run and are not a team to be brushed off. We must stay focused on winning the Liga title and maintaining our lead in the championship. Every game in La Liga is important from this point on until the end. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel, we just need the will to travel the path completely.

    Good job Stu.

Getafe are in good form but the problem they will have is that if they play the way they do (don't park the bus) then they will get punished against us. We make mince meat out of teams (apart from the culeros) who play football with us.

    Getafe are a decent team.

With Xabi just coming off an injury this is a good game for Sahin to be on the bench. Maybe come on as one of the first subs if we have a 2+ goal lead around the 60' mark, coming on for Xabi just to ensure he doesn't over exert himself and aggravate the injury. We need to start getting him some games soon anyway, I think he could be a key player for the run in, especially when we start having to deal with mid-week Champions League matches.

There was a poster who believed that there would be minimal chance of us dropping points in any of our next five games at least, and that the Cules will probably do so (thus extending our lead in the table rankings even further), however a game away to Getafe is hardly an easy one, as many of us are aware. I expect to see a tough, organised and resilient Getafe side out there tonight which will complicated things for us in some way. Any sort of win would do here for me.

    3 points + no injuries = :)

Ideally this would be a remontada for us - winning by one goal after being down two, or something. Give certain other teams something to cry about.

But these guys are a tough nut to crack.

No remontada for me, I'd really like a controversial call that goes in our favor and potentially decides the game for us though. The delightful cries will still be there but my sphincter remains intact and my cortisol levels remain level.

We won 6 consecutive games against them or so. Remontada all the way, whatever that means.:D

Edit: Oh, remontada = recovery. I don't think this game is going to be as difficult as the conventional wisdom is implying. Here's hoping we aren't going to concede first, as has become a habit recently.
