So now there's only one Italian team and one German team left in all competitions, and they're playing in the CL final! As I understand it there are four possible outcomes from the final that will result in different point distributions for league coefficients. 1. Bayern wins in regulation 2. Inter wins in regulation 3. Bayern wins by PK 4. Inter wins by PK What are the implications of each of these 4 results? Also, is winning in extra time worth the same as winning in regulation?
Do you know if winning in extra time (before PK's are used to determine outcome) is worth the same as winning in regulation?
Please remember not to discuss results of games for 24 hours in threads without an [R] in the title. I've deleted a few posts that didn't observe this but will bring them back tomorrow
Inter lost to Barcelona 1-0 yesterday (24 hours have passed) [you know it'd be easier to just put an R next to the thread title ] So Bayern would have to win the final against Inter for the Bundesliga to gain a 4th Champions league spot? Everybody in Germany must be praying for a Bayern win!
That's actually true. If giant anti-footballing superpower Inter Milan wins on penalty kicks, Germany gets an extra CL spot Inter just gained a lot of new Italian fans
Oh man that would suck! I want the CL final to have some meaning and relevance. I'll pray to your Hubble Space Telescope (or better yet the Chandra X-Ray Observatory) for a Hamburg loss
I don't see how me wanting Italy to keep the champions league spot is at all relevant to my comment. Calling Inter an anti-footballing side is a disingenuous comment, clearly based only off of Inter's game yesterday.
Yeah, who would have thought that Serie A posters would start posting in a thread that is partly concerned with their league. What an anomaly!
Yeah, it's particularly interesting how certain AS Roma fans seem to enjoy fellating Mourinho and the Inter players. Nobody is making a claim that such fans appear to genuinely enjoy ingurgitating anything however. Make no mistake, the Bundesliga will get that 4th CL spot. It's an undisputed fact (in the minds of all reasonable people) that the Bundesliga has been superior than the Serie A for some time now. Of course the Bundesliga will overtake the Serie A but for many Bundesliga fans, it's important to do this as fast as possible and although many believed that the Bundesliga couldn't overtake Serie A this year already (so that there will be a 4th CL spot at the end of next season), the league has proved that they might already achieve it now. This will be such an entertaining final, this time most of the German fans who don't like Munich will root for Bayern Munich just because of the possibility to get the 4th spot as soon as possible.
