Agree there. I'm speaking of overall importance to the team.

And even then, Marin would come behind his teammate Oezil.

Also, I'd still put Reus or Baumjohann up against Marin any day.

Oezil is the undisputed creator of the nationalmannschaft as of now. I haven't seen Reus or Baumjohann play a lot at all so I don't know how they compare to Marin. When you say up against you mean at the same level?

Yeah overall importance I guess Mueller is ahead, he has those damn "Bayern genes".;)

Marin and Müller are two different types of players. Technically Marin is two classes above Müller. The only advantage of Müller is his finishing quality. And his last several games for Bayern have been pretty disappointing.

What I mean is that you could put Reus or Baumjohann in Marin's place and the team wouldn't lose much, if anything.

Individual skills with the ball does not always a great player make........

If by "technically", you mean what they can do with the ball.

Marin is light years ahead of Mueller there.

But in overall "technical" and "tactical" play, I don't think so.

Which is why I don't rate players on their latest performances. I rate them by what I see overall.

Both Marin and Mueller are still young enough to expect some inconsistency.

Looks like people are comparing apples to oranges.

Thomas Mueller is more suited to play at forward, given his strengths (finishing, positioning, first touch) n weaknesses; But so far he has been used as a winger for BM

Whereas, Marin is apparently better at the wide positions. But Schaaf prefers using him as a supporting forward beside the targetman this season.

Thats why we're never being able to see them play at their best.

BTW, Sukuta-Pasu has been loaned to St.Pauli. Probably the best striker prospect in Germany at the moment, i think he'll have a bright future...not only because of his size n strength, but he has decent technique/pace as a targetman, can shoot well with both foot and has very good finishing

Daniel Ginczek from Dortmund is also being interested by several 2BL clubs for loan.

Comparing Thomas Mueller to Sukuta-Pasu, Terrazzino, Schurrle n Ginczek makes more sense to me. Marin is a winger, period

    Apple and orange.......cant compare

Yes, that is exactly what is going on here.

Dude, both are still developing. You write as if they are both finished products.

At this age, it is good for them to get some versatility.

Many have had that type of potential. So precious few have actually reached it.

Doesn't mean BVB is going to loan him out. I think he'll play for BVB II and get some time with the Bundesliga team this season.

You'd be surprised at what people can do when they want to believe their opinion is the right one! LOL!!

I think that's a very good move for him. Should also give St. Pauli more tools in their promotion campaign. Is the loan until the end of this season or does it extend towards the next season as well?

he'll stay there till summer 2011

Looks like St.Pauli have a pretty good chance of getting promoted to the 1BL next season. so eventually Sukuta-Pasu will have some 1BL experience.

don't forget St.Pauli also have another ex-Leverkusener in Deniz Naki. The 20 year old attacking midfielder is a great prospect imo, but he has some sort of attitude problem....

Its nice to see even the 2BL clubs are investing on domestic talents.... Karlsruhe (Langkamp, A.Fink, Stindl, Blum), St.Pauli(Hennings, Naki, Sukuta-Pasu, Kruse), Duisburg(Wagner, Ben-Hatira, Ede) , Rostock(F.Kroos, Bartels, Janicke) , 1860 Munchen (Bender bros, Gebhart, Jungwirth, Mlapa) n Greuther Fürth (Prib, Nothe, Allagui, Nehrig, Furstner, Marino Mueller) have such strategy.

Good, hopefully they can continue developing the chemistry they had last year.
