Andre Schürrle was voted MOTM in Chelsea's 6-0 victory over Arsenal. He scored his 7th goal of the season. Also assisted on the opening goal by Eto'o, and part of the wing build up play on Chelsea's 5th goal scored by Oscar.

Andre Schürrle scored Chelsea's first goal in their win over PSG, and was a constant presence all game with his strong work rate and movement. Had another great chance in the 2nd half where his long range shot hit the crossbar and then followed up on the rebound. Voted MOTM in the decisive victory.

He has been fantastic for Chelsea over the past couple of months. He's really settling into the BPL really well. I've been really impressed with him this year.

You guys might find this episode of The Game 365 on Jurgen Klinsmann interesting. Touches on his time in Germany.

Top surprise abroad player of the season. Patrick Bauer had an impressive breakthrough with Portuguese team CS Maritimo. Emerging as one of the top defensive players, and being voted by football magazine "Abola" as 3rd best central defender in the Primeira Liga during the second half.

I hope I don't get in trouble for this OFF TOPIC question, but I'm going to take a chance:

We are going to be in Germany (land in Berlin 12/19, depart Frankfurt 12/27). We have never been to Germany before. Where do we want to spend 12/24 and 12/25?

    Heidelberg?
    Cologne?
    Nuremberg?
    Alternatively, Salzberg?

I know everything is quiet on those days, and we will need to reserve those meals at a large hotel which is open on those days. We are willing to splurge on hotel, so no hotel is off limits. It will be spouse and two college age daughters.

    Thanks for advice.

Now that Ter Stegen will miss the start of the season because of injury do you think there is a chance for him to get the starting position back from Bravo?

Massive defensive performance by Patrick Bauer as CS Maritimo shutout Porto with a 1-0 home victory. Really held the backline together even with the team down to 10-men late in the game.

Good week for many German players abroad.
    • Mesut Özil scores as Arsenal advance to the FA Cup last 16. Philipp Wollscheid's Stoke City also moving forward
    • Mario Gomez's brace is the difference maker as Fiorentina win vs Atalanta in the Coppa Italia. Goes on to score another in the weekend draw against Roma.
    • Mark Uth takes over as Eredivisie scoring leader with his 12th goal of the season for Heerenveen
    • Shkodran Mustafi at Valencia win a big game 3-1 versus Sevilla

Marc-Andre ter Stegen is the Barcelona's goalkeeper, who joined FCB last season. His performances in the Champions league show his high class and good skills. German is very strong in the air, and is also noted for his excellent play with the ball at his feet.

Will be interesting seeing Schweinsteiger in a ManU shirt.
Since I completely ignore Bayern in the Bundesliga and pretty much only watch their games against 96 (didn't even do that last season) I guess I will actually watch a lot more games of Basti than I did in the last few years.

Schweini signed a 3 year contract. He'll probably outlast van Gaal.

Well I'm sure I won't know the result of the game beforehand, so should be much more exciting. :)
