He looked quick at least on 3 occasions. For his first goal which was Nurnberg's third and two other runs he made with the ball in the beginning of the second half.

Another good game. Goal, assist. He isn't the fastest, yes. But great shots, good passing.
    Debut for Samed Yesil. Nice

Wow Germany u17 had a friendly match vs Austria u17 yesterday as preparation for the Euro u17 and Marc Stendera got his first ever call up and the first start and he scored both goals ! His second goal was a great long range shot. Also, they gave him the number 10 jersey. He is short, quick and skillful playmaker (plays similar style to Goetze). Also, in the highlights he made a good dribble and cross to Benkarit who hit the post. Here is the video :

Eintracht Frankfurt won 4-0 and Sonny Kittel scored the second. Very good composure. It looks easy but it's not. Sebastian Jung scored the third and it was a very good goal. As I said, I watched him last game and was impressed- good going forward and good defensively. We'll see next season in the Bundesliga. Sebastian Rode made that Xavi esque assist for that 3rd goal. I checked his stats for this season and he has 10 assists in 30 matches. Considering he is a deep lying midfielder and only 21 years old, that's great stats and great vision. Here are the highlights :

Stendera plays at Supporting striker for Frankfurt's B-Jugend team

Interesting to see Brandt(a year younger, born in 1996) is alreeady a starter for the U17, starting at LW

Dont forget that this was just a friendly match. In the Euro, Max Meyer will start over Stendera and Gnabry will be chosen on the left wing ahead of Brandt.

Matthias Ginter from Freiburg continues to play every min of every match ( i mean in the last maybe 2 months) AS A CENTRAL DEFENDER !!! The boy turned 18 just 3 months ago. Freiburg kept a clean sheet vs Hoffenheim. Most coaches dont like to play young inexperienced players in key central positions (like central defense and central midfield)because it can cost them. They like to put them out wide. Freiburg are fighting for survival and the coach(streich) has put him in the most important position and the team keeps getting results. With him in central defense they've conceded
0 vs Gladbach away from home
1 vs Hamburg away from home
    0 vs lautern at home
0 vs leverkusen away from home
    2 vs nurnberg at home
    1 vs hertha away
    0 vs hoffenheim
they've conceded 4 goals in 7 games and kept 4 clean sheets with an 18 year old in central defense and that was the bottom team of the league for big parts of the season. Isn't that good ? I havent really watched Ginter to say how good he is but he is certainly doing a lot of things right to get himself in this position.

Hrubesch may be experimenting something different. I suspect Bittencourt and Kittel are strong on the ball, so is Jordanov; we may see mini Barca. Would have been great to see Can in the mix.

Can is still injured, I think.

I'm still not 100% sure we'll qualify. I've seen the games against Belgium and the Netherlands of this team and they were average to below average despite the individual quality of the players.

I hope Draxler will be available for the Elite round.

I agree with that. I dont think this Germany u19 has played well but there is so much individual quality. Apart from Can,Draxler and Fuellkrug not being called up, there are also other very good players not being called up - Danny da Costa, Markus Mendler and Moritz Goettel who is the topscorer at u19s level but has never been called up at any level for Germany. Very strange that.

Matthias Sammer has talked about instilling winning mentality and doing well in those youth tournaments is very important to him. I am sure he will do his best to make sure Draxler participates in the Elite round. Draxler and Schalke probably think that u19s level is too low for him and it is not good for his development but in the end I am sure he will eventually play.
If Germany u19s qualify for the Euro u19s and finish in top 3 (out of 4 teams)of the group stages there, they will participate in the world cup u20 next year. That's important.

I dont understand why Stefan Boeger doesnt like Marcel Hilssner. He is such a good talent. The Elite round matches were in his city Bremen and he sat on the bench most of the time (played only 30 min in 3 matches). In the end of the day what is important is that the player makes it in the Bundesliga and those youth tournaments are not everything but the experience there definitely helps.

Leon Goretzka said in an interview that he wants to make his professional debut with Bochum. He is a local boy and really loves the club. He will not move in the summer. Bochum's first team coach said that Goretzka will be part of the first team squad from the start of next season. It will be good if he stays there for the next two seasons and then move to a mid table club(like Mainz if Tuchel is still there) in the Bundesliga where he will get plenty of playing time. For example, Emre Can would have been playing in the 2nd division with Eintracht this season if he had stayed there instead of playing in the fourth division with Bayern Munich's reserves.

Wondering why Davie Selke is no longer an option?

He used to play pretty well for our U16/U17?

Compilation of Serge Gnabry's 2011-2012 season with Arsenal. He's been unbelievable for both the u18s and the reserves and he is only 16.

The current u19 side could field 9 players who have started the 1. bundesliga in their career (Maybe I have forgotten someone):
    Da Costa, Ginter, Rüdiger, Hartherz
    Kittel, Mendler, Trybull, Draxler,
    Fülkrug

Almost an entire team. In adition Arnold, Weiser, Yesil, Kohr are born in 1994 and have been on the pitch in the 1. bl. That seems to me to be quite impressive, but I do not know how they compare to earlier German u19 teams or to other nations' u19 setup.

    A nice interview with Sammer.
    http://www.dfb.de/index.php?id=511739&tx_dfbnews_pi1[showUid]=32781&tx_dfbnews_pi4[cat]=121

He really hopes Germany u17 win the Euro u17. There are some leaders in that team who can guide the team to success like Leon Goretzka,Niklas Süle, Marian Saar, Pascal Itter and goalkeeper Oliver Schnitzler. He says winning those youth tournaments is important. Also, he has high hopes for the u19s in the Elite Round. Given the fact that the the non-competitive teams like the u20,u18,u16 and u15 win almost all their matches, he really wants to see Germany win more youth tournaments to get that very important winning mentality. He believes Germany has improved massively in the last 6 years since he became the the sporting director of DFB and obviously mentions that there were 10 German national team players who were in the semis of the Champions League and Bayern being in the final. Of course, Sammer gives credit to other people like Gerhard Mayer-Vorfelder and Wolfgang Niersbach( and some others) for the improvement of German football.

A nice hat trick by Samed Yesil against his hometown club Dusseldorf. I liked his second goal. The movement for the third was good. He is now the topscorer with 18 goals. 3 goals in front of the second. However, Marvin Ducksch has stopped playing at that level for a long time. Marvin is playing in the 4th division and scoring goals there.

Its nice to see Marvin Ducksch is already scoring regularly in the Regional bundesliga (4th division). Ducksch scored more goals than he played in both the A-Jugend and B-Jugend Leagues.

Yesil will have more chance in the 1st team next season since Derdiyok has left.

Both Ducksch n Yesil, along with Benkarit n Timo Werner are the best striker prospects in the country
