Haven't seen Terrazzino played in a while, is he playing at AM these days? I always think he can be a better midfielder than as a forward. Disappointed to see Daniel Ginczek n Alessandro Riedle out to be honest

The U17 looks great. Goetze, Thy, Yabo, Trinks n Buchtmann are still there. But i heard Yabo, Kargbo n Mazana-Basala are gonna have medical check by the DFB of their real age!

    Is that true?

Where did you read that Riedle? On stormfront I guess.

Yabo and Mazana-Basala were born in Germany. Nuff said.

They were tested (which is kind of ridiculous in the case of Yabo, I don't know where Basala is born...). I expect Kargbo to be cut from the final roster.

    That's rediculous.
    Did FIFA request this?

If I was Yabo I'd be pissed.

Re: German NT Youth Discussion Thread "The Golden Generation"

FIFA will test players during the tournament and has told the federations that they should test their players before the start already. Which is, what the German FA did. But there's no result yet (at least I don't know the result yet).

If they did it carefully, then one player is probably going to be excluded soon.

No. Those three are of african descent and look quite a bit older than their teammates. So to prevent any further conflict, age tests have been performed to confirm these players ages.

Re: German NT Youth Discussion Thread "The Golden Generation"

yeah but Yabo is born in Germany. Basala maybe too. So these two should have German documents. It was thus not necessary.

But I suppose that this is what the German FA thought.

And tbh, we might have a player who is not '92. And I expect him to be cut from the WC team.

    Who will that be?

Kargbo never looks like a 16 year old. N i could feel the sarcasm when Pezzaiuoli intoduced him to the media right before the U17 Euro

For your information, Martins (Wolfsburg) is not 24. N there were claims that he's probably 7 years older when he was in England

    My prediction was right, http://www.dfb.de/index.php?id=500109

Thomas Mueller, Schieber, Choupo-Moting and Christopher Nöthe are all in the most recent U21 squad.

Andre Schurrle isn't there though since he is a 1990er, but i think he'll have his chance.

By looking at this U21 squad, it's looking great on paper. Certainly u've players like Boateng, Oezil and Marin in the senior NT and L.Bender, Holtby and Sukuta-Pasu in the U20 World Cup but still, they have some of the best youngsters we've produced in years. (Nsereko is currently injured and Sven Bender isn't there for some reason)

I think this can be our starting lineup:

    --------------------------------Sippel

    --Diekmeier-----------Howedes---------Hummels---------Schmelzer

    ---Gebhart------------Reinartz-----------Kroos------------Naki

    -------------------Thomas Muller
    ---------------------------------------Schieber

    Main backup:
    Choupo-Moting (AM/SS)
    Badstuber (CB)
    Bastians (CB/LB)
    schwaab (RB)
    Bargfrede (CM)
    Nöthe (CF)

Consider we've Oezil, Marin, J.Boateng, Holtby, Sukuta-Pasu, L.Bender, S.Bender and Nsereko not available, I think this is still a very strong U21!

Re: German NT Youth Discussion Thread "The Golden Generation"

I hate the thread title, reminds me of the English or Portuguese national team.

We are Germany, we should not rely on "golden generations". The goal has to be to produce quality players on a constant basis, and going by the recent developments, it looks like we are right on schedule with that.

I rather have a 'golden' youth setup - producing so many promising players should be the norm, not the exception, as "golden generation" implies.

A 3rd place and runners up in international competion might be underachieving, but I would not call them shit - especially considering how the youth teams did this year.

Re: German NT Youth Discussion Thread "The Golden Generation"

Oh, the results were ok, but the teams sucked. Considering the quality of Germany's players since the mid-90s the results were more like overachieving. Since 1996 Germany was relying more on luck and/or home advantage. Or plainly sucked when they had neither.

We had a down rate as far as player production goes during the early 2000's, no doubt.
