That's so true. So if an overrated footballer scores a goal, he is not overrated, but useful. Heskey scored a goal for his new team: he is useful. Torres scored a goal in the Cup: he is useful. You sir, are above logic
What the hell are you going on about? The guy was talking about being old. Talking about logic fails...
I was being sarcastic, but I guess you don't know that the three players I wrote in an earlier post aren't very useful to the club, even when Castaignos scored a goal. He misses too many chances to be useful
Typical shit poster response when they get called out on their bullshit arguments. The guy had a good game, most of the team did. Some players might be useless to you, but they didn't show it tonight.
Don't become angry when someone doesn't share the same opinion. They played against AZ, which has a terrible season this year. Sure he scored a goal. So what? The fact is that he missed many chances this year
Twente has yet to lose a game this season as a direct result of a mistake by grandpa Boschker. Which is more than you can say about the goalkeeper at any other top five club. Brama is a Twente youth product. As was Collins John. As was Arnautovic, on the same level as you can call Eriksen an Ajax product. The only real Ajax youth academy product that has a real starting place is Van Rhijn, by the way. And the first thing Feyenoord did when they had a tiny little bit of money to spend last summer was contract five players, including geriatric overpaid Matthijsen - yeh they came on a free but I'm willing to bet Mr Matthijsen makes three times as much than your typical Feyenoord academy product. So you might want to think about what you're blaming Twente for - as we're doing precisely what any other Dutch club with money to spend does and has done for decades. I guess it's hard to take for some that Twente has more money to spend than the likes of Feyenoord. By the by, the KNVB isn't paying Twente for youth development. The KNVB expects its clubs to be financially healthy, correct me if I'm wrong. And no other club has had a transfer balance as favourable as Twente over the past five years.
Yes he did. Twente has in fact been shite for months so far this season, partly owing to missing key players owing to injury Yet Twente is still equal on points with the league leaders. Draw your own conclusions about what that says about the clubs lagging behind.
I'm talking about the current season, not about how wealthy Twente is or which decent players came from their own Youth Product. Twente relies too much on Tadic and Chadli. And their defense isn't that good with the overrated Douglas. It's true that Mathijssen's salary is too much for a player with his skills, but he has experience and is important in the dressing room, just like Ooijer was at Ajax.
We missed Tadic and Chadli for a big chunk of the season. Fer too. We survived though. Ha bloody ha to your comment on Matthijsen's and Ooijer's role in the dressing room whilst slagging off Boschker. Boschker has been and still is five times worth more than either of those. Nobody in the Netherlands rates Douglas. So I'm not sure why you call him overrated. What I know is that the low number of goals Twente conceded this season is almost entirely down to Douglas. You do know we have the best defensive record in the league, I hope. You think that's down to world beaters like Rosales and Braafheid?? What I also know is that Douglas even made the likes of Ronnie Stam and Wielaert look good in defence. Both should give Douglas a percentage of their career income if you ask me. Never mind, I hope Douglas leaves this country soon to a league where proper defenders are appreciated. Even though him leaving soon will probably cost us the league title.
I already conceded that Castaignos misses a shedload of chances. So what are you on about? He's young, it's far too early to write him off. He looks better at this age than Luuk de Jong. Who we sold for 15 million last summer.
He's certainly won the job over Dijks and Koppers and many would argue he's been one of the best players for Ajax so far this season. Certainly the most improved at any rate. As far as Boilesen goes it's hard to say until we've seen him back in some level of match fitness and he can stay that way for more than a few months at a time.
You can't win the title if he continues with missing so many chances. Bulykin isn't that fantastic either with his 2 goals, so they need to hire/buy a striker who can at least finish 1/2 of the chances he gets. Bas Dost?
Bulykin was injured too for a big part of the season. Castaignos scored 8 goals which isn't so bad. We're not going to hire or buy a striker unless we sell someone for big money. As if we could afford Bas Dost! Again with a substandard striker and key players missing for a big part of the league we're still here in joint top position. I'm not so sure where your confidence that we haven't a chance comes from. Esp considering that Chadli, Fer and Tadic are returning to top form. So we ain't all that, I'll happily agree with that. But then again the rest of the league isn't exactly amazing either. Fact is that Twente is defensively strong and has a couple of creative geniuses who can win games out of nowhere. That gets you a long way in the eredivisie. Whether it's enough, we shall see.
I have the odd feeling that PSV will win the title their centrale defenders are one of the worst, though with some decent transfers they will be stronger than their opponents. till Narsingh got injured I was sure of it. Now it's very open even FC Pellé can win it
Fair enough. My entire point is that when Dutch clubs can afford a player who's better than their youth academy player, they will buy him. No club excepted. To me it's laughable to see everybody complain about Twente buying players now when they never complained about Feyenoord and Ajax spending shedloads more than Twente not too long ago - and unlike Twente, at a massive loss. Now that Feyenoord and Ajax don't have the money to spend they're all of a sudden saintly for not spending any money - sorry but I just don't buy that. I'm willing to bet Ajax will spend its CL money this summer. I'm also willing to bet Feyenoord will spend this summer esp if they get into the CL. Will they ever be blamed for it though? I don't think so. As I've posted here before, all comments about Twente have a huge 'who do they think they are' aspect to them.
Which game exactly has Ajax lost because of Vermeer? And what about that embarrassment of Twente vs Den Bosch? That was solid goal keeping?
I said we've yet to lose a league game owing to a goalkeeping mistake. Vermeer is a top goalkeeper of course. He never makes any mistakes. That's why he's never a topic of debate among Ajax fans (erm...) Sander Boschker is the best second choice goalkeeper in the eredivisie. By far. There, I've said it.
Cillessen ? Tyton ? Cillessen is still one of the best goalies, though he doesn't get a chance to prove himself
For me the best 2nd choice keepers are Tyton, Sander Boschker and then Robert Zwinkels from ADO... won't be able to decide between Tyton and Boschker for nr.1
