There are several items in my living room that have been smashed in half due to what can only be described as a joyous dance of celebration involving the entire body. I am in tears. From watching Darren Huckerby beat Newcastle in a scrappy affair and falling instantly in love with a rag-tag club .. I cannot even describe. No words. No words.
Did anyone else notice the vintage 1999 away shirts in the stands? When the five minutes stoppage time was announced, and City needed two goals or all was lost, I was clinging to the memory of May 30, 1999 (when City were wearing those shirts) when City needed two goals or all was lost, and there were five minutes of added time, and they got the two goals they needed. Aguero didn't leave it as late, but I think he's about the same size.
Both ends of Typical City throughout the season. Both ends of Typical City on the final day. No other way to do it.
I'm just now getting my breath back, best final day ever surely. Congratulations to Manchester City Football Club!
"Premier League", yes. And probably quite comparable to 2001 Bundesliga finish. But for me 1989 Liverpool-Arsenal is still a tough one for any league in any country to top simply because you had the top two fighting it out head on. No scoreboard watching, all eyes fixed on the two contenders going at it on the same pitch.
Congratulations all of you long suffering City supporters, you will never forget this day or this team. Big game for Zabaleta, goal aside he was pushing up constantly, his game has grown so much this season. Kun is Kun one of the best in the world. What a delightful guy. And I have to say, Balotelli was bustin his butt in the box for Aguero's goal, his effort gave Kun the opportunity to finish that off. Credit to him. Somebody once wrote a nice ESPNSoccernet article on Torino, pretty sure the title was "The Manchester City of Italian Football" Those days are done, savor the flavor!
Some of the flags draped over City shoulders: Mancini: Italy Aguero: Independiente Dzeko: Bosnia Kolarov: Servia Anyone notice any others?
football bloody hell. the look on ferguson and jones faces after finding out city had won. priceless. cisse congratulating nasri. i felt like shit watching and was close to turning it off and trying to fall asleep again, but thought, ******** it, i have to see it through. was just waiting for the team to completely crash, give up another goal, have someone sent off. crazy stoppage time. i guess this is the new wembley 99. blue moon.....
No chief, that was a great one too! Just Argentine specific on the post. And hey ... you didn't say anything about Zabaleta's FIRST goal of the season or Kun's wonder goal!! Hater!
