Obviously doesn't mean that much but he tweeted couple days ago how his pace in fifa 14 is an 86. If he's got the technique and vision to go along with it he's gunna be a good one. Do we even know if Ramos/ussoccer is aware of this guy? They didn't realize A. Hernandez at Monterrey even existed until very late in the cycle last time around
No clue. In the interview posted a few posts above he said that there was no contact with USSoccer. I would hope that they're at least aware of him. It'll be interesting to see if Leeds extends his contract.
Has it been established exactly how he is US eligible? I understand that he says he is, but was he born here or does he have an American parent(s)?
Reports are that he was born in USA http://lionofviennasuite.sbnation.c...ger-ariyibi-on-the-bench-in-bolton-u21s-match
Tab Ramos is aware of him and he will be called in to an upcoming US U20 camp if things work out. Cody Cropper helped amongst others to get him on US' radar. His name is pronounced 'Boli'
Gboly came on at the half for Leeds in their 2-1 loss to Blackburn. Everything I've read from LUFC fans suggest that he was quite a handful for the Blackburn defenders. What a difference Gboly Ariyibi has made to the side. Rovers are struggling to deal with him on the left. Catalyst. #LUFC— LUFCDATA (@LUFCDATA) January 1, 2014 418417269979377664 is not a valid tweet id Ariyibi should be playing every week his pace is just taking Blackburn apart #lufc #mot— Ryan (@LeedsUtdRyan) January 1, 2014
Leeds's twitter said he's starting later today against Harrogate town. Good chance to stake a claim at a starting spot. Hope he seizes it
I've seen that Leeds have sacked their manager. I wonder what this means for Gboly, hopefully he can impress the new manager.
And he has been loaned to Tranmere in League One for the rest of the season: http://www.tranmererovers.co.uk/news/article/ariyibi-250314-1443234.aspx And he played 48 minutes: Gregory Ariyibi was sent on loan from Leeds United to Tranmere Rovers & played 48 minuties for Tranmere Rovers today in a 2-1 loss.— Over There (@socceroverthere) March 25, 2014
Leeds sending him out on loan thru the end of the season isn't particularly good given he was only signed thru the season
Not sure what's going on with his loan. Hasn't make the bench the last 3 games for the lowly league one side.
Same pattern as at Leeds. Immediately thrown into the fire as a sub after joining the club for a couple of games, then a few games as an unused sub, then nothing.
Gboly is still out of contract as far as I can tell. He was released back in May by Leeds United (his contract was expiring anyway). He made 2 substitute appearances for Leeds in the Championship totaling 73 minutes of playing time. He also made 2 substitute appearances on loan at Tranmere Rovers in League One totaling 64 minutes of playing time.
