It isn't going to just be the seahawks though. The Huskies are going to be playing on it this year as well. Be glad it isn't grass this year.

BigSoccer is also a lot more tribal (as is soccer in general) than I think most Sounders fans were expecting.

Hell, Stoke fans still boo Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey for having the temerity of getting his leg broken by one of their players.

I was impressed by Johnson's dangerous off the ball runs in this game, particularly when we was on or near the shoulder of the last defender. The other players missed this - maybe because they're not used to him yet. But he clearly could've had a few against that woeful defense if the other sounders had picked up his runs. I was also impressed by his target hold-up play. Very solid and smart. Jury's still out on his longer term fitness for the whole season but I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised. If he keeps working hard, he looks like he could be a threat for us.

I also have to say that Scott, of all people, looked amazing out there. His passing, in particular, has improved light years from last year. He used to just boot it and Wednesday he made these nicely placed one-time passes on the ground. He also shut down Landon Donovan pretty well, no easy feat. Scott looked quite quick all night. That dude has been working on his game big time and it shows.

Lastly, Montero could've easily had three in that game. Now that he's (really) un-corked one, he may go on his normal tear, before he dries up, of course. The presence of Johnson out there might make him step up his game this season. I still think he is more naturally an offensive midfielder (see other thread). He would really draw out the defense with shots like that. But maybe he'll score 20 this year.

johnson was masterful at bringing the ball down, probably what i noticed the most, besides montero's goal.

    Never underestimate the Hawaii-to-Gonzaga pipeline.
