Screw it, it's not too early to start this thread! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBrsM_WlfV8"]Game Of Thrones: Season 2 "Cold Winds" Tease - YouTube[/ame] Very much looking forward to it. I am still not finished with the books, have about 200+ pages left of A Feast for Crows and then still A Dance with Dragons to go.
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) Can't wait- Finished DOD way back in the summer. When does the first season come out on DVD/Blue Ray?

Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) Really looking forward to this Stannis sounds really cold in that teaser, get the feeling he's going to be a great character on the show.
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) My favorite part of that teaser is the horn sounding three times at the end.
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) Stannis' voice sounds a lot like Jorah in the preview.
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) Does anyone know how long season two will stretch? Will they cover just the second book or try and condense it and get into parts of the third?
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) I think it will more or less cover book two, although I suspect some stuff from book three might overlap the last episodes of this season and the first episodes of the next season.
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) I've read they're gonna juggle some things around, particularly with Jaime's storyline there'll be stuff from the 3rd, and in general this season will stick a lot less closely to the books than the last. And it's not necessarily that they're trying to improve it, but just trying to manage the bewildering logistics of all these different storylines, locations, and actors. So for example Jaime's storyline will get moved up because otherwise he would've had almost nothing to do this season, certain characters won't appear yet or will have others fill their roles, etc. I also read there'll be a lot more action this season, which should be a big improvement, some of the fight scenes got short shrift last time (like the battle Tyrion was almost in).
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) I think the lack of any real battles in season one was almost entirely because of budget constraints. Even with the budget supposedly being raised considerably for season two, there is no way they will be able to do justice to [result] the Battle of the Blackwater [/result] on a TV budget. I think they will likely focus on a few skirmishes ([result]like the sorties by the Hound and then Tyrion during the aforementioned battle[/result] rather than the big picture battle.
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) Looking forward to another season of tits and swords.
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) Ding ding ding. Just saw the first episode of the new season and it's more of the good ol same.
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) Some of the new faces for season two: http://www.tvovermind.com/game-of-thrones/game-thrones-meet-faces-season-2/86984 Warning, somewhat spoilerish for those who haven't read the books. I love the casting choices for Roose Bolton and Dolorous Edd, they are spot on. My least favorite choice appearance-wise is Asha Greyjoy (who they have also renamed for some reason). Not at all what I imagined a naval warlord princess to look like.
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) Asha is supposed to have short hair - if she weren't smiling like that, she about looks the part. I'm willing to wait and see how it goes; her introduction is one of the better early scenes. I believe they changed her name because it's similar to Tysha, Tyrion's prostitute. I think Balon and Davos should be reversed but completely agree that the Roose Bolton casting choice looks inspired.
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) Another one that could be good based on the one picture in that article is the girl playing Gilly. Though I have to wonder how much she'll feature in this season? [result]She isn't in A Clash of Kings beyond the first passage of the Night's Watch through Craster's keep, right?[/result] The guy playing Balon looks a little like Kurtwood Smith.
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) Or Osha, which I always pronounced with a long O in my head but could sound almost identical.
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) Her too - I tend to ignore her (and the comic relief characters on the Wall too, to be honest.) Did they cast Ygritte? If they did, I missed it. With the amount of red headed characters I saw on that link, GOT feels like affirmative action for ginger actors.
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) I don't think they did, probably they moved her (and a big part of Jon's story arc) to season 3.
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) She's not really in book 2 though, except for the very end, so that fits.
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) They did, Ygritte is Rose Leslie. And found this site while looking for her, has the new cast next to fan art of the characters. Game of Thrones: Season 2 cast additions
Re: Game of Thrones - season 2 (starting April 1st on HBO) You don't like Dolorous Edd Tolett? Well that's just his luck...
