Selling SRO tickets, it would nice if we could set a new attendance record (21,868 8/8/10 vs New York).

It is sold out but you can still get standing room only from what I understand.

Also, I heard somewhere that Beckham could have his suspension extended for kicking the ball at the San Jose player. Personally, I think that's an awful move on MLS's part if they do that with this game being national. I'm hoping for a full squad from LA. I want us up against there best. I'm psyched and can't wait to go. Hope to see many of you there.

Single seats are available. Thank goodness it's not supposed to be a 100 Sunday but they have to stop tv from dictating starting times. No games in july and august should be played at 2:00pm.

Beckham is out for sunday. Suspended another game. This is my 3rd time i've had tickets to go see LA play in hopes of seeing him play. And he's either suspended or injured every time. To be quite honest i'm growing increasingly pissed by it. Guess it'll still be a great game to be part of though.

He's only played twice here since he signed with LA, no surpise maybe he's just scaried of playing here. Did you buy tickets just because of Beckham?

Of course the league waits until the end of the business day on Thu to announce Beckham won't play against the Fire. Of course waited to make sure the game was completely sold out IMO.

This is such a Mickey Mouse league sometimes. Hacking, tacking from behind, late tackles go unpunished God forbid u kick a ball at a player whose faking an injury ( which will also go unpunished ) and no game for you.

We are FIRE fans, not David Beckham fans, the only bad thing about this is we can't boo the shit out of him (This game was close to soldout months ago). If the only reason you're coming to the game is Beckham, then move to LA and you watch him play 20+ times each year.

******** Beckham and ******** all the cry babies that won't be able to see Beckham play on Sunday.

As a Fire fan, I'm a little disappointed he won't be playing. His sloppy defense tends to lead to some pretty good set piece opportunities and it would nice to see one last Marco Pappa golazo. :D

Trololol to the last 5k-ish who only want to see one Fire game a year and Trololol to stupid MLS and their ESPN contract. I'm sure ESPN is thrilled.

I think it's funny but shitty.

No I have season tickets. But he missed last year as well and when I was in the Air Force I was stationed near Kansas City and bought tickets to see KC vs LA a few years back. He was injured for that game as well. I had season tickets last year also. So 3 times i've looked forward to seeing him play a match in person but every time it seems my luck runs out. Still excited to see guys like Donovan and Keane. And with a sell out it should still be a excellent atmosphere. But it's likely this game sold out because Beckham was expected to play and now many people are going to be disapointed that he's out. Especially those who purchased tickets just for this one game thinking they'd see Beckham.

Well I guess they'll have to root on the FIRE instead.....

The big question is if all the 14 year old girls still coming out to the game...Alot less screaming......

Why would I do that. This is about a silly decision which affects A game I paid for. I want to see the Fire but I also want to see the best talent MLS has cause im also a SOCCER fan.

Yes I am a Fire fan and that's why I shelled out the 1200$ for my two season Tix. But again I'm a MLS and SOCCER fan also. For my money I want to see the Fire play and win. I also want to see the Fire play the best talent in MLS
I didn't see Henry or Marques and no Becks. Ya I'm going to move to LA to see him 20x let's not be juvenile. I bought two more Tix cause my 8 and 10 yr olds both wanted to see him and whatever keeps them interested in the Fire/soccer works for me.

If it doesn't matter who yet play why don't you write the Fire and tell them to drop MLS and join the USL cause it doesn't matter who they play cause your going to go just to root for the Fire.

Yes silly like moving to LA to watch Becks play 20 times a yr

I guess I should be happy woo hoo I get to see more Mike Mcgee or maybe some other technically deficient MLS midfielder make wayward passes and make passes back to the goalie

I'm hoping to see a 2 forward starting lineup like the one firefan2001 wrote down:

But I think we'll see Pardo and Pause starting again...which means Alex starts on the bench and Rolfe moves to CAM with Oduro by himself therefore canceling out our speed threat due to a lack of numbers...

Also, I would rather see Anibaba instead of Gargan, give Gargan a break, although I enjoy his 37 second throw ins, we haven't been able to get the rights to Peter Crouch yet...and Arne and Austin need to switch spots...but, other than that I'm looking forward to the big game on Sunday, and with 3 points at home, the rest of the week will be much better.

    Hi,

I'm a temporary refugee from the Statistics and Analysis board (which doesn't seem to have a lot of life) and I'm just looking for a little bit of a guide on this game and would appreciate any advice. I've run the numbers on it and I have Chicago as the better team (0.09 better than average vs. LA 0.15 worse than average) and at home (worth about 0.45) so I have them winning by about 0.69 goals per game, which translates into about a 55% chance of a win. I haven't really looked at the MLS in depth (in terms of the numbers) until about two days ago so I'd be grateful for a few pointers on this.

    Thanks,

David Beckham is out for LA, and that should help.

We just lost a very good midfielder but have possibly replaced him with someone that's shown promise the past couple games. That might edge things in our favor.

The game is sold out, so if that moves the needle statistically it might help.

The loss of Grazzini in the midfield might have an impact in the locker room as well.

In the past year I'd say we've turned a page at Toyota Park and have started winning more than tying, and tying more than losing.

Thanks - this is helpful, I might just sit this one out as my number is only 3-4% in my favour (I don't bet everything but I just like having an opinion), but it is definitely tending toward a Chicago win here I think. Good luck.

For marquee players like Beckham all suspension should be for home games.

I think they prearrange his schedule to avoid travel.
