REminds me of when people in your racist country made monkey noises towards Roberto Carlos, who won everything with your Real Madrid.

Aren't you ashamed of yourselves? I mean, you have already hosted the Olympics and the World Cup; you should know that such sporting events have the promotion of unity as an objective, and yet during the 2008 Summer Olympics your hoops team does this?

I'm going to hope your team crashes and burns the way the Furia has in almost every major soccer tournament. And to think I actually supported Spain during the European Championship of 2008.

    Shame on you Spaniards.

The Spaniards thought it would be a sign of unity by showing that they were the same as the Chinese and they would like the sign of unity. Did you ever wonder how the picture got out there so easy? It's not as if they were hiding it.

Most Spaniards are not ashamed of themselves. And bringing up racist noises made by fans. That only happens in Spain right? Or wait, in France, oh wait, in England..oh wait, in America..oh wait..in Italy. You lose that argument.

If you are Asian, you can form your own opinion and be offended, or choose not to be. That is your choice. But if you are not, then who cares if you are offended?? I certainly don't, and I'm sure no one else does.

To quote an Chinese citizen that was interviewed on TV about the photograph,

"Everyone is saying I should think this or that about the picture. Don't tell me if I am offended or not. I could care less."

    Exactly.

How absolutely retarded. If that’s what people in Spain really think, then you gallegos are even more ignorant and racist than I had previously thought.

The truth is, this is an international event and the basketball team represents your country, Spain, just as every individual and team from every sport Spain sent represents Spain. That is all the more why your basketball team is guilty of rude and ignorant behavior. They are guests in a foreign country, and they should have shown a degree of restraint and sensitivity.

It got out easily because it was a PROMOTIONAL SHOOT, you genius you. This wouldn’t be so much of an embarrassment to Spain if a few of the players on Spain’s basketball team were drinking at a private party, fooled around, someone snapped shots, and it leaked. This was known and seen by those in charge of your basketball team and no one did anything to stop this. At the very least, the people in charge of your team, or someone in authority within the Spaniard basketball federation, should have intervened; or, a rep should have reviewed the photos before approval for publication was issued.

That no one made any effort to edit or cancel this idiotic photo speaks very highly of how pervasive racially bigoted views and insensitivity are in your country’s culture even in the 21st Century, and it’s all the sadder since it is a very ugly action during what is a global gathering of goodwill.

The French, English, American, and Italian basketball teams did not do anything this pathetic and stupid, so do not bring them up. Racism in other European countries is no excuse for racism in Spain and it certainly doesn’t make Spaniard racism lesser. And yes, monkey noises are disgusting. Did you chant along with the rest of those ignorant retard Spaniards when Eto’o and Roberto Carlos were victimized? And no I do NOT lose this argument, pal.

The dynamics are different in China. Chinese are the majority there; they are not the recipients of such racist gestures there because, well, everyone has slanted eyes. It’s the Asians in the west who’ve immigrated to Europe and the Americas who have been on the receiving end. Then again, you being a white Spaniard have probably never experienced racism (although you fellas are surely good at dishing it out, as per the terrible treatment my fellow Brazilians have experienced at your ports of entry despite having all the papers required by Spaniard law).

And now an Argentine being a drama queen.

I made no reference to actual deaths; I made a reference to my wish that the Spaniard national team fails. Well, they will compete for gold, but I'll be rooting that they are defeated by the Americans.

Devilman, I am now reminded of the Desabato affair. Maybe you Argentines are the greatest reflection of Spaniard racism in South America. Take a look:

You know nothing about this gesture, it was friendly and even the Chinese ambassador in Spain said so. Nobody cared about this in China, only British and American press did. Maybe it's your society where everything is considered racist, you can't say white and black because that is not politically correct but you can kill hundreds of civilians with your army. If you are comparing this gesture with a bunch of stupid hooligans then you are the real ignorant.

Let's hit the nail on the head right away. I am in no means a white Spaniard. I am an American, of Polish Decent, actually from Gdansk if you were wondering. Good thing we got that out of the way before jumping to any conclusions about what my ethnic background is.

I don't even know where to start in that reply. You must have something stuck very very far up somewhere, and for that, I apologize, because..well, that's what must make you very unhappy.

You're Brazilian friends had a problem at the border? Aww, I'm so sorry about that. You mean the same problems that I had as an American at the border when I had all my paperwork, or when I got into the country and had to go to the police station to get everything straightened out? It happens to EVERYONE, even Americans, well since we rule the world and all.

I've got something to tell you. Racism exists..EVERYWHERE!!! Yes sir. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Nordique hit it on the head NO ONE FREAKING CARES THEY DID IT!!! Boohoo!!

You know how my friends in Spain welcomed me back to the country? By all wearing hats, shorts, tshirts and sandals. Why? Because that's what 'guiris' wear.

Are they all laughing in the picture? No, they are smiling. They are trying to be unifying.

I'll go crawl back into by Polish-American house and eat my Pierogi now while Polking and yelling at my babcia and dziadzek.

I also love the consistent use of the word 'retarded' cause it's not like that isn't offensive at all, considering I work with kids with mental disabilities.

Slanting our eyes is offensive, but calling someone retarded is okay? Such as when you called them 'retard Spaniards' or that my comments were 'retarded'

I'll just call someone an idiot, cause that is simply directed at you.

Pot calling the kettle black anyone?

Or as we say in the racist homeland 'le dijo la sartén al cazo'

I'm Asian myself, and I've gotta admit I giggled to myself a little when I saw that picture.
