New article from LA Galaxy with some juicy tidbits from Pete: http://www.lagalaxy.com/news/2014/03/la-galaxy-academy-pick-three-victories-over-chivas-usa We supposedly offered Kleiban the u14 gig after Vanney went to Toronto and he turned it down. I have to eat humble pie because I thought the Galaxy never tried to make a move for him but it ends up they did and he turned them down. That's not even the weirdest part of the story, though. Supposedly they will coach the team by committee the rest of the year. Look for the Galaxy to circle the wagons and try and bring him in over the summer. Hopefully they are able to bring him in but, if not, I am sure they have a back-up plan. Some of the things Pete said in this piece are obvious fluff and definitely a little outlandish. I don't think we can definitively say we are the best because I don't think we have proven anything yet. Let's hope that in a half decade or more some of his claims become indisputable.
Couple more tidbits: http://www.lagalaxy.com/blog/beat/2...or-pete-vagenas-talks-u-14-head-coaching-post Pete expanding on the u14 coaching search. Says a lot of good things and I am glad they are looking for the right fit. At the beginning I may have been a little wary of Pete not having any experience but he seems to say the right things. Let's see if he can continue to do the right things. Also, looks like we recruited another usynter, 2000 Zico Bailey. He is from Las Vegas so wonder what his living arrangement is. The @LAGalaxyAcademy would like to welcome @ZicoBailey to the club. Top 2000 prospect in the country. Another U14 USYNT player. Welcome Zico— LA Galaxy Academy (@LAGalaxyAcademy) March 25, 2014

The @LAGalaxyAcademy U18 game vs Anderlecht has been delayed 30 minutes due to a lightning warning...#DallasCup2014— LA Galaxy Academy (@LAGalaxyAcademy) April 13, 2014 Shame this match has been disrupted because it's one I wanted to follow closely. Anderlecht have a very good academy. Seeing where we stand with them would be useful, the delays might effect the match though.
@LAGalaxyAcademy: Bradford Jamieson with the first goal of the game. 1-0 @LAGalaxyAcademy over Anderlecht. 23 minutes in
Jack McBean heart break as he hits the post on his PK. Still 1-0— LA Galaxy Academy (@LAGalaxyAcademy) April 13, 2014

Down 0-1 at half time against Fluminese. I only caught about 15 minutes but from what I've seen we look a bit hectic and Flu has a physical advantage.
At half. The @LAGalaxyAcademy 18s are down 1-0 at half to Fluminense.— LA Galaxy Academy (@LAGalaxyAcademy) April 14, 2014
Red card. Fluminense. Lots of time to play. 2nd half been all Galaxy— LA Galaxy Academy (@LAGalaxyAcademy) April 14, 2014
McBean one on one with the keeper and shoots it right at him. Granted there was a defender pressuring from behind, but a guy that's played with the first team really needs to do better with that.
