The reverse fixture at White Hart Lane in January 1904 was won by Spurs 1-0. Tottenham also won the home fixture in April 1909 1-0 with the great Vivian Woodward scoring the winning goal. A few months earlier, Woodward had captained the Great Britain football team to their second of three Olympic Games Gold Medals.
