BATE with a massive result. My Belarussian friend thought they'd be lucky to get 2 pts from this group, though he did say Hleb has been ballin lately. They did this with 10 Belarussians and a Serb #respect

So, Messi singlehandedly put away Spartak? Looks like he has that extra gear.

Did anyone watch Lille - BATE match? Are BATE for real? What did they look like at Lille?

LOL it's like he guy just dropped off the moon. The man has put away Real Madrid single handedly in the past, but this performance against Spartak shows that real "extra gear" LOL

I guarantee you he hasn't watched more than 5 games of Barca in the time Messi has been there (2 UCL games v. Dynamo and maybe their 2 UCL Finals and a Clasico....and that's a big MAYBE)

At least Hulk hit a post, which would have tied it 1-1 and maybe changed things...but with that defense probably not. The away goal would have been nice though. Shirokov's header was really the only other chance Zenit got.

That's a shitty result for Spartak.

Shame Fenerbahce didn't put them out of their misery. Fener chose to keep their moron coach and just cut their legend Alex's contract lol

Yeah Spartak needed at least a point here, at least Barca is beating Benfica right now though. Sounds like a red card really turned the match in Celtic's favor.

Zenit have a huge match tomorrow vs Milan, should be a good one.

That is impressive. I've been following their European campaigns for a few years now. They keep improving, and that is an awesome result.

And majority of the roster are domestic players. THAT is even more impressive.

That's only possible because they are not DK.

I am not sure what that means - DK achieved the most when majority of their roster WAS domestic.

DK youth schools went tits up for a period of about 7-8 years. Between the players of Shevchenko's generation and Yarmolenko's generation that school produced very few footballers capable of playing well for the first squad.

Yarmolenko wasn't produced by Dynamo Kyiv. He was produced by Desna Chernihiv. In fact in his youth days he wanted to go to Dynamo's school, but they refused him because he wasn't in their evaluation, "physically adept" LOL

Actually if you look at Dynamo's roster only these players actually were produced by Dynamo's academy directly:

    Shovkovskiy
Milevskiy (joined when he was about 15-16 years old when dynamo snapped him in Belarus)
Harmash (joined their team late as well. Prob at 17 years old)
    Kravets
    Boyko
