Cool article about Eminike http://soccernet.espn.go.com/featur...-emenike-faces-former-club-fenerbahce?cc=5901
That writer really pisses me off, I read some of his articles on another site and he just took cheap shots at Zenit on things that are endemic to all of Russian and Eastern European football. Things like fans running on the field, which of course happens at other places too.
It's not even a big deal if it's one jackass. Plus that penalty kick by that Spartak fan was legendary.
BATE are playing today (Ironi Kiryat Shmona). Let's hope they win as i think they should. After yesterday's games, I place Spartak's qualification at 50/50 and Dynamo's at 80/20
How is Ukraine ahead of Russia in the country coefficient ratings??? I lost a bet to my friend just now about this wtf???
1 Ukrainian playing for Metalist...the goalie Konoplyanka scores late in 1st half for a vital away goal. Tough going for Dnipro against a physical side. Dnipro almost conceded in the 1st min on a breakaway lol thank god the striker wasn't better than he showed at that moment
I wasn't hear on the forum in June so I don't know if it was brought up then but man I'm out a case of beer fck! For all of the talk Dima brings up about how good Russia is and being 'the most competitive league in the world' nonsense....and this is what we end up with??? Lol its comical Any chance Ukraine can move up past Holland and Portugal if we have a good year with our top4? or is Shakhtar's winning season comes off going to keep us in check?
Yea it's pretty obvious imo, Ukrainian league > Russian league. If that's what the coefficients say than it is what it is. Right now Russia's behind Holland and Ukraine as coefficients are the only clear cut objective way to look at it.
UPDATE 1-Soccer-Moscow fans racially abuse Anzhi players http://sports.yahoo.com/news/1-soccer-moscow-fans-racially-abuse-anzhi-players-141135871--sow.html
BATE Borisov (BLR) draw 1-1 at Ironi Kiryat-Shmona and advance to the group stage of the Champions League 3-1 on the aggregate.
BATE in the UCL 3 times in the last 5 years is it? Now they have Hleb too, if they don't have the group of death can they be this years APOEL? Not been following it closely but seems like Dinamo's manager took over with the team playing its highest level in a while and just suicide bomb'ed his own team. Is it still the guy who benched Voronin near the end of last season and then surprisingly included him in the first 11 in the Russian Cup Final without letting him know he'd play until gameday? lol what a dumbass
Is having Hleb a good thing? All congrats to them and their fans but they beat some crap team to advance.
I'd say having Hleb is good for them. But I haven't seen him play for a while. No excuses, they got the job done. Dynamo Kyiv lost to Thun at this stage and almost lost to the Irish Pub All Stars another year. BATE is stable. Surprised Zenit the poster wasn't the first to break this story though lol
Bitter that Spartak is playing for CL tomorrow and CSKA is playing some crap Swedish team for a Europa League Spot? Then why else taking shots at BATE? That crap team they beat is probably better than AIK.... in the Europa League.
No one's taking shots, it's just kind of lame that Dynamo and Spartak for example have to play quality sides while inferior teams like BATE get CL football by getting past some Israeli team or whatever it was.
Maybe, maybe not. Crap is crap. This new format they've come up with, the champions round or whatever it's called, is a bit unfair imo.
UEFA are trying to reward teams winning their national league titles. I can see both pro and con of this.
